| DO NOT RENT THIS GAME. To get the full game you will be required to fork over extra cash. The feature that is stripped unless you pay is the DNA feature (one of the greater improvements) and is only free if you are the first person to play that game. Things like this should not be supported. Simply read this: Now one could argue that this is merely an unfortunate side-effect caused by the measures taken against piracy, but in case of the DNA feature in NBA their intentions are obvious. Buy it new and you'll get the new main feature for free. Buy it used and fork out another 20$ over to EA. This way you will most likely buy it new since it's difficult to find a used game for less than 40$ for quite some time after release, which subsequently earns EA 40$ more per copy sold that way. From a corporate and marketing point of view, the model is brilliant. Instead of no money at all you get from used copies, you get 20$ and might even bring many people to buy a new copy instead of used one, which means even more money. However, that's pretty much the opposite to customer-friendly behaviour and sure will piss many people off who didn't know such mechanisms were in place when they bought the game used. | ||
