FIFA 09 Description

The first thing you may notice about FIFA 09 is the presence - again - of Rooney and Ronaldinho on the cover. Okay, the Brazilian superstar is wearing the red and black stripes of AC Milan this year, but it is a case of the same men in different poses. The good news is that the PS2 version of EA Sports hugely popular soccer title hasn't been left foundering in its bigger brother/sister's wake. Yes, the PS2 version gets as big a number of improvements as the PS3, with more than 350 new animations and all-new Casual Controls, where you can ease yourself into the world of FIFA with a graduated gameplay system featuring a simplified two-button control configuration. Once you've worn your new boots in, you can go on to recreate awe-inspiring signature moves of real-world superstars with more than 30 professional skill moves, just like the Brazilian genius on the game's sleeve. The popular Be A Pro feature - introduced in FIFA 08 - has expanded to a career mode called Be A Pro: Seasons, where you can choose or create a player and then master a single outfield position over a four year period with the ultimate aim of becoming a soccer legend. There are fully licensed leagues from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, as well as all the international teams you can think of, and some you may have overlooked. The matchday experience is so true-to-life with a referee and linesmen on screen, and with the stadium atmosphere and commentary all regionalised in great detail. All this, and especially of note for England fans, the new Wembley too!
