Not everyone can be Tim Henman - some might be thankful for that. But, if Wimbledon taking over the TV gives you a hankering for a spot of racket sport, 2K Sports has something to oblige you. Developed by 2K's PAM Studio over in gay Paris, Top Spin 3 emphasises realistic play. To this end, 2K has included a raft of professional players, including the likes of Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova. 2K has put the power to shape your player in your hands. Top Spin 3 offers a deep character customisation tool. Not only can you make use of the freeform face-sculpting editor, you can also customise swing animations, hairstyles, makeup, tattoos and grunts. Yes, grunts! We've all wished we could make our in-game tennis player's grunts a bit more to our own grunting taste, haven't we? 2K has also built in situation-specific behaviours to enhance the realism, along with revamped audio and fine-tuned crowd reactions. The controls are built for precision. They can be demanding, but when you hit a sweet shot - oh so rewarding. The game comes with a World Tour online mode to take Top Spin 3 beyond the single-player experience. It features the usual leaderboards, but also throws in seasons that will change every 15 days. At the end of each season a new champion will emerge, but then it all resets to allow newcomers the chance to step in without a severe disadvantage. Save yourself a bit of effort, hit the court from your living room.

Great game with stunning visuals, things like the crowd seem very realistic. They have changed the gameplay loads by taking out the swing bar gauge for certain shots. Now all you have is goood old-fashioned timing to gauge your shots. Things like this have given Top Spin 3 a more realistic feel about it. The only negative I can see is the lack of Nadal on the 360 version, Ivanovic on any version and Wimbeldon on any version. But apart from this Top Spin 3 delivers loads of familar faces including Federer and even Boris Becker. And apart from Wimbeldon most other grand slams are featured in the game. Great game, recommended for newcomers and die hard fans alike.

This is the first "next-gen" tennis game I've played so I cannot compare this to any other 360 tennis game. I feel that Top Spin 3 is a great tennis game, offering a deep challenge for diehard fans and one of the closest experiences to playing a grand slam. I feel this game is best with other people online or off. Get friends over for a four player mashup or 1-3 players with variable AI bots. The graphics and frame rate are excellent in game but this is a minor load before matches. The main bulk of the career has Plenty of tennis pros and tournaments which are challenging and deep, with all players realistically animated challenging gameplay. Thought the game being a challenge i found it a bit ifficult and feel it might alienate casual fans. The roster may dissapoint major Tennis fans with no Ana Ivanovic in any versions and no Rafael Nadal on Xbox 360.
