Thank heavens for ATV simulators, eh? For those with no land on which to race, and no means to fund a purchase of an ATV in the first place, ATV Offroad Fury Pro is heaven-sent. The game is the 2008 entry in Sony's much-admired franchise and brings a host of tweaks and upgrades to the table. Impressively enough, there's cross-compatibility with the PS2's ATV Offroad Fury 4 game, meaning you can customise circuits, exchange and upgrade vehicles, share trading cards and access chat rooms and newsgroups between the two titles. There's also a greater range of vehicles on offer, with the introduction of MX bikes, buggies, and Trophy Trucks, bringing the total number of vehicles available to more than 30. Up to four players are catered for thanks to wireless connectivity via Ad Hoc or Infrastructure as racers thrash around 30+ environments and six terrain types - snow, dirt, mud, ice, water and grass. Race modes include Endurocross, Snowcross, Rallycross, Circuit and Championship. ATV Offroad Fury Pro also features mini-games galore, with Card Battle, Rings of Fire, Pool and Graveyard Madness. But it's the dirt and dust of the competitive racing against either AI or human opposition where the real delight of this game lies. Get a non-game playing friend to toss gravel and mud at you while you're playing for full effect! Great stuff!
