The History Channel: Great Battles of Rome Description

The History Channel Great Battles of Rome combines cutting-edge gameplay, historical footage and battle simulation and allows players to fully immerse themselves in ancient Roman times. A mashing of action and strategy, Great Battles of Rome invites players to assume control of campaigns against Barbarian hordes while establishing the Roman Empire. Over 100 battles are available for play, including the Punic Wars and Julius Caesar's conquest of Britain. Players can customise and control massive armies with an array of soldiers including archers, cavalry and war-elephants. The game delivers realistic battles in various environments, including desert, steppe, forest and coastline, in both day and night-time. You can choose to plan your own battle tactics by selecting an army to suit a certain situation, or you can leave the strategy to the game's AI, meaning you can get involved in nothing but action. Additionally, 30 film clips from the History Channel's archives are included to complement the game and guide the player through one of the greatest stories of all time.
