Fightbox Description

When an interactive TV show was first announced in which contestants do battle, beat-em-up style, with virtual characters via a computer interface, it was pretty much always on the cards that a video game spin-off would be on the way. Well it didn't take long, and, as well as the more faithful looking PS2 and PC versions of the game, a fun-sized, portable GBA adaptation is also available. The concept of FightBox is very similar to the BBC's other early evening battle game, Robot Wars, in that players design and build their own 'warriors' and take them into the arena to fight it out with others. However, FightBox fuses interactive TV, video games and the Internet so that it all remains in the virtual domain - players design, create and nurture their fighters on their PCs, before taking them onto the show to take part is what appears to be a pretty rubbish looking 3D beat-em-up. The GBA game of FightBox allows you to do all this (not the going on the TV show bit) all from the comfort of your favourite handheld. A FightShop option enables you to design and build your own warrior, before entering into 12 tournaments, set across four difficulty levels. As well as the tournaments, the game also includes eight eliminator games, the TV's Showdown fight, and a two-player option, via a turn-based combat system.
