The Haunted Mansion Description

The Haunted mansion is one of Disney's most famous theme park rides. It's so popular in fact, that a film of it has been made starring Eddie Murphy as the comical lead. But it doesn't stop there. Now The Haunted Mansion is coming to GameCube in its first ever video game. Assuming control of a frail Zeke Holloway, players will find trouble in their adventure when they stumble across an eerie mansion set in a remote area of, erm, the Disney universe. And this is where you begin. Guided by a talking crystal ball, the earlier stages of The Haunted Mansion serve as a tutorial, making players feel comfortable with the game's play mechanic. You begin your adventure in a hall with a single locked door, which explains that you must hold 15 spirits in order to pass. All you must do is find them by searching treasure chests and looking for hidden passageways. Once found, simply flash your lamp at them and you've got 'em. And that's basically how the game works - by fulfilling certain requirements in each area of the game to progress to the next. However, there are nasty spirits and the occasional arachnid littered around the mansion to hinder your progress, so take each step with caution. In some ways, it's very similar to Nintendo's Luigi's Mansion in that there are many locked rooms and lots of collectibles to discover along the way. Like the film, The Haunted Mansion isn't a massive epic that should be taken seriously. It's something of a light-hearted adventure that is in many ways forgiving, and one that the kids will love.
