SeaBlade Description

As gamers tire of the onslaught of beat-em-ups and racers, developers are having to turn to other gaming genres in search of fresh ideas. One such genre that has received more than its usual share of attention of late is the submarine strategy game. We already have games like Sub Commander, Sub Rebellion and Submarine Titans, and now there's one more from TDK - SeaBlade for Xbox. Evil tyrants control the Northern hemisphere, while the South has formed a peaceful, stable government which the elite SeaBlade squadron has been trained to protect. As a member of this squadron, you will be sent deep into enemy territory on search, rescue and destroy missions, using formidable sea vehicles to determine the fate of mankind. Standing in your way are brutal landscapes and ominous boss creatures lurking around every corner. No surprises there, then. But there is another side to SeaBlade, and that's the ability to participate in air-based missions as well as underwater missions. Above sea level, you'll have to contend with adverse weather such as rain and snow, whilst below the sea you'll lose the ability to manoeuvre with ease. There are a remarkable 39 single player missions, competitive and co-operative multi-player missions, a comprehensive arsenal of weapons, five genuinely unique craft to command and full stereo sound effects, enhancing the already cinematic quality of the game. SeaBlade is a game that really needs to be played to be understood. It's a challenging game to learn, let alone to master, but it keeps you on your toes, and consequently, keeps you interested.
