X-Men 2: Wolverine's Revenge Description

Released alongside the home console versions, this GBA iteration of Wolverine's Revenge appears in the rather predictable guise of retro-style, 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up, as opposed to the roaming 3D style of it's big brothers. The story remains the same, however, and sees players assume the role of everyone's favourite X-Man Wolverine as he faces a race against time to find an antidote to a viral time bomb that's just been discovered in his system. With only 48 hours to live, Wolverine returns to the clandestine Department H facility deep in the Canadian wilderness, to uncover the terrible secrets behind the Weapon X laboratory and the experiments that turned the mutant hero into a precision killing machine. Assisting our mutant hero in his quest rather heavily is a unique set of mutant abilities, which includes the likes of deadly claws, animal-like super sense, an enhanced mutant healing factor, unbreakable bones, and superior strength and reflexes. Throughout the game, players have to master all of these skills in order to defeat the sinister forces massing against them, led by arch-villains Juggernaut, Wendigo, Magneto and Sabertooth. Luckily though, as X-Men tend to stick together in times of crisis, you're not alone in the quest so you can expect the occasional back up from fellow X-Chap Beast and the good old CEO of X-Men Ltd. Sir Charles of Xavier (okay then, Professor X). It's safe to say that the GBA market is saturated with similar side-scrolling beat-em-ups - after all, the machine is very similar in capabilities to the SNES so this is to be expected. Wolverine's Revenge is one of the more solid titles in the genre, however, offering quality old school gameplay combined with the inclusion of all your favourite Marvel characters.
