The friendly-turned-mean-looking ghost has enjoyed years of TV appearances of late and even a big-screen outing during the last decade or so. But that's not enough for some, and now he's coming to a GameCube near you. We've already seen him on PS2, but just one year on, he's looking better than ever. The amusingly-named evil emperor of darkness, Kibosh, has raised an army of monsters to wreak havoc on the world of the living. Protagonist Casper and all-round nice ghost has been called upon to put the, erm, kibosh on Kibosh's terrible plans and defeat his army using his unworldly powers. Once again Casper is playable within a fully rendered free-roaming 3D environment, a-la Mario 64. There are several game worlds to roam, and the graphics and level of detail are commendable, and in some ways, surpass those seen in the PS2 version. Special effects should get a mention, as Casper's translucent body is a nice touch and a good demonstration of just one of the features of the GameCube hardware. But it won't be long before you are under constant attack from Kibosh's myriad minions. Floating through numerous fantasy game environments, you must outmanoeuvre your foes and dispose of them with some newly-learned powers. There are 100+ bad ghosts and demonic creatures to defeat, along with four devilish and formidable bosses. Come on kids, help the world's only friendly ghost, and have fun doing it too!
