The Sum of All Fears Description

The cinema release may have come and gone, in August of 2002, but Sum of all Fears continues its presence in video games as the GameCube version of the same name finally hits the shelves. There's a terrorist operation in the works, and being the elite FBI anti-terrorism team leader, you're the one responsible for bringing this global atrocity to a happy end. And just think, if it weren't for the American's 'no negotiation' policy on terrorist matters, you wouldn't be playing this game at all. Woo-hoo! Regardless of epic plots, hidden agendas, character development and a close relation with the film, the GameCube version of The Sum of all Fears, like all other versions, is a hardcore first-person stealth-em-up game similar to the SWAT series of games. The game has 11 exceptionally large missions for you to master. Gameplay elements include making the best use of the latest anti-terrorist weaponry, hiding from the enemy, freeing hostages, destroying illegal weapons caches and planting bugs. The experience is at worst, diverse, and at best, sheer genius. The GameCube version unfortunately lacks the multi-player options present in the PC equivalent, but the gameplay is compelling to the extent that it's still a worthy purchase, particularly to the avid gamer and reader of Tom Clancy novels. Who knows what we'll see next from Ubi Soft development team Red Storm? Sum of all Fears 2, anyone?
