RTX Red Rock Description

For some reason, it's widely believed that at some point in the future we're all going to get bored with living here on Earth and decide that Mars is a much more desirable alternative. However, most predictions derived from films and games always seem to portray things running far from smoothly. Look at Total Recall, for instance. RTX Red Rock paints a similar picture of the future, depicting the events of the Radical Tactics Experts (RTX), the smartest and toughest members of the armed forces who are on a mission to reclaim the Red Rock colony of Mars. More specifically, the year is 2103 AD. You're E.Z. Wheeler - a bio-mechanically enhanced soldier built to wage a one-man war. By bio-mechanically enhanced, that means that you're in possession of a steel arm sporting an arsenal of weaponry, an electronic eye and a robotic sidekick by the name of IRIS. And it appears that you're going to need all the help you can get, as alien invaders have overrun the Red Rock colony and it's up to you to put a stop to their plans and save the future. The gameplay in RTX takes the popular form of third-person action/adventure. Taking control of Wheeler, you enter into the adventure, engaging in fierce tactical combat, investigating mysterious environments and solving an assortment of challenging puzzles. With the aid of the aforementioned steel arm, at your disposal is an array of explosive weapons, including grenade launcher, handgun, grappling hook, and plasma torch. Key to the proceedings in the game, however, is the synthetic eye, which enables you to view four distinct spectrums (a la Metroid Prime's visors). For example, Thermo-scan, which is red in colour, enables you to see through walls and identify hidden enemies. Electro-scan is a blue lens colour and allows you to identify electrical systems you can interact with. There are ten intense levels to battle and puzzle your way through, taking you across a wide variety of locations, from advanced space stations to cavernous underground mines. So there's a fair amount of adventuring to undertake, which should keep you occupied for a while.
