Disney's Tarzan Freeride Description

Tarzan's must be getting on a bit now, but he's still one of the most popular characters around. He recently made an appearance on PlayStation 2, and we loved his polygon-generated jungle so much that Disney's brought him to the GameCube just in time for the launch of the console. The story in Tarzan Freeride is very similar to its big screen counterpart and involves Tarzan and a variety of linguistically-accomplished primates. Hmm, Disney's definitely behind this one. The GameCube version of Tarzan Freeride looks particularly stunning. The environments, although mostly a hundred shades of green, are stunningly rendered in full 3D, and populated by a bestiary of friendly and hostile inhabitants. Watch out for those crocodiles! They'll eat ya, they will! When getting into the game proper, players are advised to listen out for the game's narration; it helps to drive the progression of the game better than most. You will initially begin in a forest area that is played in linear format, Crash Bandicoot-style. Running into the screen, you will learn how to jump, climb, swing and slide across the huge environment. As you progress, the same moves are required of you, but in faster, more frequent movements. The first level is a kind of tutorial that helps the player get to grips with what is to come. Before long, you will be riding the rapids on floating logs and saving lives. It's light-hearted fun that gets the pulse racing. All of the above, tied in with a series of Time Attack and skill-based challenges makes for a great game that provides many hours of fun.
