Dark Angel Description

Buffy rival Dark Angel, based on director James Cameron's (Aliens, Terminator 2) TV series, is making its console debut on Xbox with the help of Canadian developer Radical Entertainment and publisher Vivendi. In a similar vein to Activision's Minority Report and Squaresoft's disappointing The Bouncer, players assume the role of Max Guevara, voiced by series actress Jessica Alba, on a survival adventure of the fittest. Set in the near future and keeping true to the themes of the TV show, genetically enhanced super-human Max has predictably escaped from her military creators and reluctantly embarks on a heroic mission to discover her own past whilst bringing down the corporation responsible for creating her. Of course, it is at this point that you are continually hunted by myriad assassins and sharp shooters all bent on taking your life in a gorgeous series of 3D environments, which you must progress through to reach the game's dramatic conclusion. The numerous American locations largely consist of dark alleys and enclosed spaces, making successful hand-to-hand combat quite a difficult task. And while you'll need to resort to bare knuckle fighting on many occasions, there will be times when stealth is the best means of passing through a level. Fight a lot, hide a lot, run a lot - that's what you'll be doing for the large part of Dark Angel whilst being driven by an extensive and compelling narrative.
