Robot Wars: Advanced Destruction Description

Robot Wars is a great idea, and no mistake. The concept of building dedicated machines of violence, then sending them into battle on TV to see who has the hardest, is something that should have been done many, many years ago. Developed by handheld standard-setting developer Crawfish, Robot Wars: Advanced Destruction aims to bring the Robot Wars arena to the palm of your hand and succeeds very well. The concept remains as faithful to the TV show as possible. You are charged with building a robot and winning the coveted series title of Winning Roboteer. The game does add its own essential touch, like the ability to take a world tour of the "angry radio control car" fighting leagues, and removes the incessant chanting of "Pit! Pit! Pit!" by the studio audience. Which is nice. The game supplies the player with an impressive assortment of some of Robot Wars' more famous combatants, including Hypnodisc, Razer and Panic Attack, but this is not the main point of the game. You are encouraged to design and build your own tin can of doom. You get to choose the body shell and then add primary and secondary weapons, as well as the all-important SRMEC or fighting mechanism. But you knew that, right? By the way, we can heartily recommend a double-ender Hypnodisc set-up with a SRMEC. Present as ever are the indefatigable house robots: Sir Killalot, Matilda, Sergeant Bash and the rest, all of which are faithfully recreated by the boys at Crawfish. This is a great little game and is highly entertaining. This will probably not matter to fans, who will most likely have had the game on order since it was announced.
