ESPN Great Outdoor Games: Bass Fishing 2002 Description

Bass Fishing games have been around for a long time, but it wasn't until the release of Sega's arcade title, Bass Fishing, that these games became known well as mainstream products. And now, everyone wants a piece of the cake. ESPN Great Outdoor Games Bass Fishing is Konami's bid for virtual fishing stardom. Developed for Game Boy Advance, Konami's technical efforts have shone through. ESPN Bass Fishing is wonderfully detailed, and although 2-dimensional, has a surprisingly realistic feel. The fish have been rendered beautifully and the surrounding environments are equally lush. In terms of gameplay, there are three modes of play to 'sink' your teeth into - Tournament, Free Fishing and Vs mode. Fishing in a virtual world of seven real-life US locations, your game entails catching the biggest fish possible. There are 14 different varieties of fish that make Bass Fishing that little bit more enticing. Although ESPN Bass Fishing is a great one-player game, it is undoubtedly more fun when played with a friend via a link lead. This competitive game mode offers endless replay value and will keep players 'hooked' far longer. In typical Konami style, Bass Fishing is a bit of a button-bashing game that makes reeling in the fish quite frantic. And if you don't mind looking stupid playing this game on the local bus or train, you'll have a 'whale' of a time.
