MTV Music Generator 2001 Description

Up until the launch of the PlayStation console and the rest of the CD-based platforms, music had little significance in video games. But when the CD-based console arrived, the plinky-plonk tunes of the 16-bit era were gone. Games like WipEout on PlayStation quickly demonstrated the value of video game soundtracks in the marketplace with music from the likes of Underworld and The Chemical Brothers. The release of the first music-based games changed all that, and gave its users the freedom to create some fantastic tunes and audio effects. Keeping up with recent developments in the industry, Codemasters has released MTV Music Generator 2, the ultimate in audio recreation, on PlayStation 2. First of all, Music Generator 2 has been developed with two clear audiences in mind - the professional modern day composer and the amateur player. Amazingly, Codemasters has managed to produce the game to appeal to both audiences simultaneously. People looking for a quick experience that is fun and uncomplicated will find exactly that in the essence of the game. But those with a more professional approach will have to dig deep into the game's more complex aspects of music-making. Here, you'll be able to play around with multi-sample riff editors, mix and match up to 10,000 music and vocal samples and master the intricacies of volume management. Once composed, you can play your songs alongside a variety of psychedelic images that are ideally suited to the bottled water, sweat-drenched massive. Large! With all the these features and the facility to save up to 99 songs on a memory card, the second instalment of this popular utility is by far the best choice for the budding raver.
