Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity Description

Sonic the Hedgehog likes to go fast. We know, we know...you knew that already. Apparently, being the fastest spiky (and possibly only) mammal on two feet isn't good enough any more. And so we get Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. In a nutshell, it's where WipEout, Sonic and Mario Kart meet. Sonic careens around various tracks on vehicles that don't touch the ground as he takes on his friends. Various different power-ups - which will seem familiar if you've ever played a Sonic game before - are offered in bountiful quantities as you do your speedy thing. Sonic has managed to get his mitts on a new gravity-altering bracelet to change things up from the original game. It gives him and his pals the ability to stop time, producing a bullet time effect, or cling to a wall track to take different routes. Sonic Team has also built in a new boost manoeuvre. Activate it at the appropriate moment and you'll be flung into the air, able to catch additional boost from objects that you find there. Also new to the game is an upgrade system, allowing players to swap rings they've snatched up for new gear on the fly. We like Zero Gravity, but still don't see why Sonic can't be satisfied with running really fast. The good news for you - the gamer - is that you get both speed and gravity defiance. Result!
