Disney Pixar Cars: Mater-National Description

Just in time for Xmas 2007, and - shock, horror etc., not a film tie-in (there's no sequel to Cars at the time of writing) Cars Mater-National Championship takes all of the best elements from 2006's Disney Pixar Cars videogame and adds new characters, new tracks and challenges, and special guests from a certain other Pixar picture! Lightning McQueen's best friend Mater is hosting an International Racing Festival to celebrate the building of Lightning's new Practice Stadium and Racing Headquarters and you're invited to join the fun. While exploring Radiator Springs, Ornament Valley and Tailfin Pass with all your favourite cars, select the Event Targets to compete in a series of high-octane road races, monster truck races, relay races and minigames such as Fillmore's Fuel Frenzy and Ramone's Rhythmic Rumble as you gear up for the main event - The Mater-National. To advance the storyline you must play the most recently unlocked level of any event. However, you can go back and replay any other level you have already beaten. Bonus points in Story mode can be collected by collecting special bolts and performing cool motions like getting big air and powersliding around bends, driving backwards and beating high scores and setting new records. Everything becomes playable in Quick Race mode and the minigames section as you beat the challenges. It's all very kid-friendly of course, but, as the prequel proved, there's plenty here for older types to enjoy too.
