Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Description

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii is a must for fans of Capcom's zombie-blasting survival horror series, as well as a slight departure from the usual format of the Resident Evil games. This time around, the developers have plumped for an arcade-style, on-rails light-gun shooter game which can be played with the Wii Remote on its own or with it tucked into Nintendo's awesome new Wii Zapper gun. Aside from this, Umbrella Chronicles looks and feels very much like what you have come to expect from a Resident Evil game, just with much better controls. Win win! If you've played previous games, you will know much of the storyline as Umbrella Chronicles puts the player through the events of first few games, as you battle to take down the evil Umbrella Corporation, the cads responsible for all this zombie mess. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine both return to kill off the Umbrella Corp in an all new storyline in the game, which certainly offers plenty more hours of fun than most other on-rails light-gun games on the market. And of course, as with all Capcom's Resident Evil titles, it looks lovely, its nicely paced and it will scare the living daylights out of you, so don't play it alone in the dark at night.

Played this game from start to finish in co-op mode with a friend and we thought it was good mindless entertainment. We managed to finish it in one sitting, so it is not a lengthy game. However we did not play any of the extra missions the game offers so replay value is quite high. I also found the story to be quite interesting as I has played the previous Resi games on the PS1. It was nice to see Nemesis making a cameo appearance, S.T.A.R.S!!!!!! All in all this is a great co-op game with a good story but don't expect as much depth as Resident Evil 4: Wii edition.
