Every Extend Extra Description

If you don't understand what Every Extend Extra is about from looking at the screenshots on offer then you can comfortably be forgiven. The game craftily extracts itself from categorisation. The closest you'll get is to describe it as a shoot 'em up/puzzle combo. Even that seemingly bizarre confluence of genres fails to adequately describe this latest release from the design team behind Lumines, however. Featuring influences as diverse as Russian painter Kandinsky and rave music, Every Extend Extra is an involved play on your senses. It features the basic building blocks of a flight-based shooter: you buzz around the screen dodging wave after wave of enemy fire. It starts to stray from the traditional shooter, however, with the distinct lack of an ability to fire back. Rather than shooting down your enemies you'll need to blow them up like trippy kamikaze pilot. Players can detonate their own ship, and do this close enough to the baddies and you can take them down. Before you get trigger-happy and start blowing yourself up left, right and centre, however, you'd best make sure you're as close to as many as them as possible. Taking down enough enemies will earn you an extra life, but if you don't? Well, we probably don't need to tell you. The puzzle element comes into play with the fact that each enemy you destroy explodes as well, so if you place yourself accurately you can create a cascade of psychedelic death. So if you like un-categorisable games influenced by Russian art and rave music, this is for you.
