Call of Duty 3 takes gamers closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin. Players assume the roles of four Allied soldiers (American, British, Canadian and Polish) who must fight German forces on an authentic battlefield. With an unprecedented variety of combat, detailed character animations, high-definition graphics and violent on-screen action, number 3 is certainly the most immersive and realistic of the Call of Duty series so far. There is a selection of new features in Call of Duty 3, including an all-new close-quarters battle mechanic that allows players to disarm traps, fight hand-to-hand, detonate explosive devices and execute many other battlefield situations that require rapid reflexes to survive. Gamers can fight it out online with the option of single or split-screen online play. You also have the choice to play as infantry or commandeer multiple-occupancy vehicles such as jeeps, tanks and motorcycles with side-cars that lead to unique mobile combat roles for action-packed multiplayer action. The game also offers soldier classes, each with their own unique abilities and a ranking system for truly diverse squad combat. The PS3 version of Call of Duty 3 comes with a new physics engine and advanced graphics that really does bring the war to life. Next-generation level design gives players multiple attack routes so they can decide how best to confront an enemy soldier: flank an opponent, or hit him head-on, for example.

Hmmm I used to play this games on the PC, All 3 of them i fact but as you cant play the game using a mouse to move about and aim its just not the same, I'm not knocking the game the FX are great and the sound is second to none, But like i say, I'm so used to using mouse in FPS. Having played this game on Both PS3 and Xbox360 i can tell you than on the PS3 the game to me runs a lot better and is better to aim using the Thumb Pads on the SIXAXIS control. PC 10/10 Xbox 360 5/10 PS3 7/10

Great graphics and sound but the game is let down a lot by the control system. The dual shock joypad is awkward to use and doesn't compare with using a mouse and keyboard for a first person shooter.
