Resistance: Fall of Man Description

Ever wondered what would have happened if a rogue virus had warped the populaces of Russia and Europe, over-running the Eurasian land mass with a swarm of monstrous mutants by the 1950's? Sure you have! You sick, sick puppy... Lucky for you, then, that Sony's Resistance: Fall of Man explores that exact scenario. With Europe and Asia brimming with nastiness, it falls to Britain and the United States to try and stem the tide of evil and save the day. To this end, you must step into the hard-worn boots of Sgt. Nathan Hale and take on the Chimera, armed with only your organic slime mine launcher and a heavy dose of grit. You'll join the frontline of the battle alongside the British as you work to uncover the secrets of the Chimera and of Hale himself. Oh, and you might want to shoot some things too. At first glance, you might mistake this for a Call of Duty or Medal of Honor, what with the grim setting. At second glance there's not much chance of repeating the mistake. The Chimera come in a huge range of inhuman-type ugliness, and you'll be called upon to use a myriad of different tactics to take them down. Different tactics means a selection of weapons, and these range from sniper rifles that can slow down time, to cannons that whip out needle-like subsonic bolts. If you fancy shooting the snot out of your friends, Resistance will give you the opportunity to do that, too. The game supports a massive online multiplayer option that allows up to 40 people to duke it out.

best game out there for the ps3, both story mode and online games will keep you hooked

Great fun. Played this in single player mode all the way through and then started again in 2 player co-op mode which is even better! Online is top as well with a huge community, although I suck at it and keep getting whomped. Ignore all the nonsense about graphics and controls, it's easy to play and looks great and above all is, most important, fun!

This Game is Quite Good, the weapons are okay (not as good as Ratchet and Clank), the enemies look so realistic using only a normal telly and a scart lead, the story is alright but in my opinion not enough cutscenes. The levels are brilliant, although some have too many paths to go. Good, but not as good as R&C. Can't wait for number 2.

Its obvious from the start that this game was a launch title for the PS3. Its a very 'by-the-numbers' first person shooter that pulls ideas from just about every other shooter thats ever been released. All that seems to put a downer on proceedings but in actual fact, if you can get past the average graphics and the 'seen-it-all-before' story-line, this is actually a great little game. For me its main advantage is the shortness of the levels. This alone gives it a very 'pick-up-and-play' structure without the player having to invest hours of time into learning controls and gameplay mechanisms. I was skeptical when I rented this game but after playing through it I would highly recommend it.

The story is acceptable and fun to play. The story is huge with lots of chapters. The graphics is not of high standard, however you would not get dissapointed. The number of weapons you get is huge and you will have your own favourites. Although there will be some weapons that you will only use if the other's bullet run out. One of the best feature of the game is the 'online play'. You can play lots of type of games such as 'deathmatch', 'team deathmatch', 'capture the flag' and many more. Although you will finish the game in 1 or 2 days, you will never get tired from building your own profile online. It is defenetly recommended to play this game.

Interesting idea but there's no real connection with the dull looking main character that you play. As usual it's a case of the Americans saving the day, and it is more of an american take on the UK rather than a British take on the UK. The graphics are pretty dull to be honest, all brown and greys, some of the weapons and aliens are original, but there are so many better first-person shooters out there.

Finished this game within 1 day of buying it. wasted alot of money on such a quick game. good gameplay. ok story line. only good part is when you shake off the monsters but it thats the only part the SIXAXIS plays.

It's Not A Bad Attempt For A Launch Game (Excellent Visuals In HD Aswell) However If This Was Released 1 Maybe 2 Years After Then It Would Be Classed As A Major Disapointment. After Being A Big Fan Of Gears Of War I Hoped This Would Be A Good Contender, However It's Not Fair To Even Compare The Two. So If You Have Been In A Coma For A Year And Therefore Not Heard Of Gears Of War Then You Will Probably Enjoy It As You Don't Have Anything To Compare It Too!!

Sure this game has got good driving bits but that is the only thing I find good in this game, the graphics are not good enough for a next gen game, all you do is shoot things over and over so it is really repetitive, its not original which is a shame for a luanch game and above all what happened to the friggin online co-op. A real let down.
