Power Stone Collection Description

Power Stone Collection for the PSP is a compilation that includes enhanced versions of Power Stone and Power Stone 2, which were originally released for the SEGA Dreamcast in 1999 and 2000 respectively. Before they were released for the SEGA Dreamcast, both Power Stone and Power Stone 2 were arcade games. Power Stone is a crazy Beat'Em Up where players go head-to-head against an opponent in best of three round match-ups. The Arcade Mode allows a single character to test its skills against various CPU-controlled opponents. There are unlimited continues available and if you successfully defeat all the CPU-controlled characters then you will unlock a variety of bonus features in the Power Stone Collection that includes characters, weapons and additional modes. In Versus Mode, two players must choose a character and battle it out against one another to see who really is the best. Power Stone for the PSP has a more sophisticated interface when compared to its Dreamcast predecessor. The game features a new, more visual health meter as well as a radar that shows the location of the power stones. There are also four additional characters from Power Stone 2 which have been made available for Power Stone, bringing the total to 12 playable characters. Power Stone 2 really does crank things up by using the PSP's WiFi functionality to support up to four players, which in turn makes the Versus Mode great fun. There are several new levels included in the sequel, which feature multi-tiered areas within a single map that make battles more chaotic. There is also a greater selection of outrageous weapons available in Power Stone 2, as well as several new game modes. Basic Mode gives a single player limitless continues as they compete in a series of head-to-head matches, which culminates in a final boss battle. Arcade Mode is very similar to Basic Mode, but features a single fighter taking part in four person battles. Up to four gamers are able to compete in Original Mode, which allows for customisable challenges such as one-on-three, two vs. two or tag team battles. Adventure Mode lets fighters collect items and gold to buy and create objects in an item shop. The items you buy can also be made available for use in other modes. There is also a Bomber Battle minigame present that was not available for the Dreamcast version. In this minigame, players must defeat their opponent while avoiding the many enormous bombs that are scattered about the place. If you were a fan of Power Stone and Power Stone 2 for the SEGA Dreamcast or arcade, then Power Stone Collection represents extremely good value for money if you wanna play wherever and whenever you like.
