Pilot Academy Description

Pilot Academy for the PSP is an extension of the successful Japanese flight simulator series Pilot Ni Narou! - directly translated as "Let's Become A Pilot!" - a game first released in 1998 for the PSOne. Pilot Academy is developed by Kuju, with design duties handled by Pilot Ni Narou! series producer Junichi Kutsuzawa. The game will of course retain the spirit of the original titles. The PSP game begins with a series of training exercises which teach the basics of being a pilot. From there, players can head straight for the skies in the cockpit of private, commercial or military aeroplanes. Pilot Acadmey offers both civilian and military flight simulation, with countless single-player missions and multiplayer aerial combat. Pilot Academy is built upon advanced technology, which represents the landscapes from 30,000ft down to landing. With three regions to explore, each approximately 64km square, flight simulation fans will not be disappointed. The controls used to pilot the range of aircraft in the game offer complexity, without insisting players are double-jointed. Pilot Academy also provides specific vocal instructions for gamers who veer off course. Combat planes from four eras are included in the game - From World War I through World War II and the Cold War, to modern day combat, all with their own distinct challenges. All sizes and types of civilian planes are present, including crop sprayers, Boeing 737s and 747s - all with appropriate challenges for each class. Each time a challenge is completed successfully, players must select other planes and scenarios, each unique to the class of aircraft they are currently piloting. Records and achievements can be recorded, which in turn provides a greater incentive to replay both missions and challenges. There are four different multiplayer games for up to eight players to take part. The Deathmatch Mode is available to any PSP owner, whether they own a copy of Pilot Academy or not.
