Dead Rising Description

In Dead Rising, gamers assume the role of Frank West, a freelance photojournalist constantly searching for the scoop of the century. In pursuit of a surefire lead, he makes his way to a small American town only to find it has been overrun by flesh-eating zombies. Looking for somewhere to hide out, Frank flees to a nearby shopping centre (in a nod to George A. Romero's classic Dawn of the Dead) only to find it anything but safe. If anything, there seems to be more zombies inside the mall than outside. Dead Rising is set over a three day period and offers gamers the full reign of a realistic shopping centre (or mall, for the benefit of our American friends - Ed). It is up to you to help Frank find out who is behind this deadly epidemic. There are many different stores in the mall that offer players an endless supply of resources, including makeshift weapons, vehicles and much more. If you can pick an object up, you can use it has a weapon - there are over 250 items that will help create mayhem, including circular saws, skateboards, electric guitars and severed arms. It is important to remember that the zombies become more powerful by night. They may move like a snail with a limp throughout the day, but as the sun goes down they become faster and much more dangerous. There will be encounters with various survivors throughout the game and by helping them, you will glean important clues that will ultimately help Frank solve this horrendous puzzle.

Its like GTA only much better,It has over 30 hours worth of gameplay alone on the story mode and once you get the true ending you unlock a mode called Infinate mode and overtime which expand the game even further.

With unlimited replay value you will soon realise that killing zombies with jeeps and handbag is ever so much fun. But for real fun with the game play 'Wlecome to the jungle' song as you slice and dice through this Capcom classic

Horrifically addictive. I often hear about the replayability of games and don't quite agree when it comes to playing them, but with this I actually did replay it after completing it - quite a few times. The very fact that it is often substantially different every time, depending on how you decide to play it kept me gripped. Obviously the core story remains, but the option of bothering to play along with it is yours. It's super violent, bloody and gory... but also genuinely funny at times, and often quite cute. Getting extra points for taking photos of the action, such as violent, funny or even sexy scenes progressively rewards you with upgrades, such as speed etc, as well as adding moves to kill zombies with, which are worth working for, because when you complete the game and start again, your character keeps his stats, which can be built upon furthermore. If I went into detail about the fun of grabbing objects from the environment (such as toys, frying pans, garden sheers and sports equipment) to hack and bludgeon your way through hordes of zombies with, I'd be here forever. And also, the people you decide to rescue and guide to safety (or you could just leave to be eaten) can open up offshoots to the story. Basically, a huge amount of super violent fun. Seriously, very fun.

Really funny. Good story line. Reasonable graphics. Nice blood. Fun to continuously kill zombies in cars and lawmowers and chainsaws and gun and axes and about anything you can hit, slice, smash, push and stab with. (Not better than many GTA). What I would say is it can get a bit tedious when your doing a chapter or trying to save someone. And theres no checkpoints only toilets to save from. So say you've just saved an old granny who's supper slow and doesn't attack anything. You've just ran half-way around the mall and died 3 times trying to get there and now you have to go all the way back. So you save it in a loo. And only then do you realize you've only got 1 health and you have to start all over again... that doesn't happen all the time but when it does it is really tedious and boring.

A mall. Infested with Zombes. I mean, that is the perfect setting for a game. But Capcom (The zombie masters of the world) have managed to create a game that, once the gimmic wears off, is just a guy hitting zombies. I mean, where is the fun in that? But I cant really complain, after stacking up about 100 hours of gameplay i must of found a reason to keep going back. The game is set in Willamette Mall, and you are a journalist dropped in on the mall to investigate what is going on, but once you enter the mall, you are thrown right in at the deep end! The games story system in very unqie as you have to try an survive for 3 days waiting for the helecopter but trying to figure out the mystery of the random zombie attack. The games 'special' swarm system alows upto (according o capcom) 250 zombies to be onscreen at any one time. This is an experiance to have at least once in a lifetime as it is the only game capable of achieveing this without getting ANY slowdown. The weapons are another strong point of the game with almost anything that can be picked up can be used in your fight against 'those creepy zombies' (Damn Decline Of Video Gaming!) The feture that realy lets the game down its its very unfair save system. There is about 7 save points in the whole mall (5 restrooms, 1 gym and the security room) and when you see how spread out they are youll be contiuously hanging about outside them in fear of dying trying to get to the next one. This can really be a putdown if you accidentally save and ruin your chances of getting to the next event in the story, because if you miss just one event, you miss the rest of the story, and that can be a pain in the... rear. But I must admit that this game has the hine of something that has taken ages to create and most of the features are well pulled off. If you do rent thi gam, you best be prepared to rent the most addictive, fun and damn right stupid games ever!

One of the more enjoyable games out on the 360 at the moment. Cant beat the sound of a sledge hammer bashing a zombies head in, blood squirting. The gore factor is very very satisfying. The story is okish but you feel rushed to do the main quests not allowing you to focus on escorting survivors. You'll need to restart a few times to focus on unlocking diffrent achievments which can get a bit repetitive after a while. Well worth playing!!!

Zombies cant go wrong with zombies, this game is well worth getting out you'll have it for weeks especially if you try the Zombie Geonosider achievement (63000 Kills). Its a solid game once you get past the time constraints of having to be at certain places at certain times (to finish the story mode). Soo many weapons the hand to hand is a bit choppy sometimes guns, planks of wood, chainsaws and megaman blasters! awesome fun

gets very samey after a while, the story line is aweful, was a good idea but has been let down. it is a fun thing to play with mates over even though it is single player but the missions are hard to follow, zombies seem to have very odd life spans ie a football can kill 10 in one go where as a bowling ball doesnt kill anyone when you roll it them.. etc etc can get really frustrating when you escorting people and thjey decide to just run into a pack of zombies aswell, overall fun for a bit but all seems a bit samey, and the camara battery life has annoyed me the most, having to walk miles everytime your camara runs out of battery, and it happens quickly!

This game is a lot of fun when you get into it and when you manage to get past the slash em up and into the game. A tad repetitive at times but lots of easy achievement points to be won here so pretty much worth it just for them. You'll either love or hate the story mode as it is time based so if you were looking for something free-roaming, you won't get this completely.

Alright I Guess... Could have been better. 1) MORE SAVE POINTS GOD DAMN IT!!!At the start anyway. Being stuck in the North Plaza at 8:20PM with the thought of walking through not only Night Zombies but convicts aswell with only 2 health left, to get back 2 the only save point! 2) The claim- if you find it you can use it... wrong i was looking forward to using golf clubs to hit zombies- no such luck. Finally... The damn cases- no way to reject them- so i could never get in the food place (backup for brad) without ending up in the boss battle. Thank you other than that its brilliant!
