Gitaroo Man first burst onto our screens on the PS2 in 2002. Like Gitaroo Man, Gitaroo Man Lives! for the PSP is all about - you guessed it - guitars. It's probably one of the most bizarre games ever made and unlike anything you have ever played before. The game will undoubtedly appeal more to the romantics out there. It is a heartwarming story of a boy triumphing against all odds. Gitaroo Man Lives! places the player in the shoes of an ordinary young boy called U-1, who dreams of becoming a skateboard master in order to attract the attention of Pico, the most popular girl in school. Unfortunately for U-1, he is regularly subjected to bullying by various music-playing supervillains, known as the Gravillians. When this happens, U-1's pet dog turns into a robot and throws him a magical guitar, which subsequently transforms our hero into Gitaroo Man. Now Gitaroo Man must use his magical guitar to save the planet Gitaroo from the evil Gravillians. To do this, gamers must participate in countless guitar battles that involve some serious rhythm-action button pressing. Gitaroo Man Lives! is innovative and makes extremely clever use of the PSP's analogue controls. As you progress, each level becomes more complicated. Later stages have tracks that move in excess of 240bpm and will have players needing to hit close to 1,000 notes over a four-minute period. Given time and copious amounts of practice you will hopefully be able to play absolutely anything. The game supports the PSP's WiFi function, where either two players can join forces in a duet or pit their talents against each other.
