X Men - The Official Game Description

In X-Men: The Official Game, players are able to control Wolverine, Iceman and Nightcrawler as they travel across unique environments. It is up to you to try and win an epic struggle to save mutant-kind against the X-Men's old adversary The Brotherhood, as led by Magneto. Gamers will be able to experience Nightcrawler's acrobatics, surf through the air on Iceman's ice slide and unleash Wolverine's unbreakable metal alloy adamantium claws on some unexpecting foes. Players are also able to experience events leading up to the X-Men: The Last Stand feature film and beyond. The game explains Nightcrawler's mysterious absence from the movie. X-Men fans will be glad to know the game replicates every aspect of the X-Men universe, including costumes, enemies and even the voice of Patrick Stewart (who plays the role of Professor Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men). You can also explore famous settings from the movie, such as Alkali Lake, Dark Cerebro and the Statue of Liberty. X-Men: The Official Game lets players face off against villains from the film and then some. The gameplay offers stealth-style action, time-based missions and melee fighting that will undoubtedly have gamers glued to their screens. Players can also experience control over their heroes like never before, as they increase their character's superpowers over time through the Mutant Evolution System.

X Men - The Official Game is as it looks, another film turned into game which feels rushed. The game features the same pace throughout the game never really challenging the user at all to learn new techniques as there isn't many to master. The game has some value for those who enjoy just running around and destroying most things in their path, and let?s face it, who doesn't? However you can only slash, headbutt and kick so many times before the sequence gets rather dull. Even on Superhero mode the game won't feel too challenging to the more experienced gamer especially considering you can heal yourself and with Nightcrawler teleport out of the way of trouble and sneak up on enemies making you untouchable. They only other disappointment with the game was the cut scenes, made to feel look like a comic book just appeared to have no effort put into it and not grip you into the story at all! Shame! However this game does have good points, and quite a few! You do get to just smash up enemies constantly and the graphics are not too bad considering other movies to game titles! You will also find that the enemies with guns will begin to challenge you while you try to find off the rest of the people. The fact that you get to play as 3 different characters also stops the game from becoming mind numbingly boring, but it has it's moments. X Men - The Official Game will find a better place at the hands of younger gamers who don't look for something more challenging with easy to find secrets, easily defeated enemies and predictable game play. Either way this game is worth renting but I wouldn't say buying unless you are an X Men fan. Reviewed By Jason Nelson
