Project Gotham Racing 3 Description

There's nothing clever about the current rash of street racing and showy driving. Well before all the pimping, before the Need for Speed Undergrounds and even before the Burnouts, we were all playing Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast. The people at Bizarre Creations learned about racing games making their successful F1 games for the PlayStation. MSR was a much more ground breaking kettle of fish, though, awarding players 'kudos' points for flashy driving as they raced through the streets of London Tokyo and San Francisco. It didn't hurt that the soundtrack was written by Outrun music legend Richard Jacques either. As the Xbox eclipsed the poor, hard done by Dreamcast, it was decided that this was the ideal new home for Bizarre racing game. Two versions of the re-christened Project Gotham Racing came out for the Xbox, the second of which sported desirable Xbox Live! support. So it won't surprise those browsing shelves filled with software for the new Xbox 360 console to see the supercar-emblazoned mush of Project Gotham 3 peeking mischievously out at them. If you've managed to miss the screenshots released on the internet throughout the year, take it from us that this is one beautiful, jaw-droppingly shiny and lovely videogame. Online and offline modes have been improved and expanded to allow you to tailor your racing experience. Select any one of the dreamy supercars on offer and get closer than ever to your mechanised icons. You'll discover that every detail of the cars, down to the dashboards inside, is faithfully modelled. The cities are no less impressive, and your tour of the world takes you through photorealistic reconstructions of anywhere from New York to Tokyo. And of course there's the good old kudos system, rewarding you at every turn for flamboyance and panache. Let's not beat about the bush, PGR3 is the absolute must have 360 launch title and there's just no arguing about it.

Can only echo what the other review says. This game is AWESOME! The best part "as stated" is Gotham TV - not only for the online racing, but the part where you can watch how the PGR3 pro's do it, try racing these guys proves interesting to say the least :o| 5 Stars!

This is truely a superb game. The details of the cars are fantastic, playability is awesome, and the graphics of the background including the people moving when your car goes into the barrier is just fantastic. I normally play driving sims where I can see the whole of the car, but this one I have to play as if I'm sat in the car as the realism is incredible!

Excellent driving game, but I found the offline experience a bit of a chore. You get the best car within a couple of hours.... Online it is great and will last a long long time.

this review won;t be as good as the others (and will state the same things) but will try my best the grpahics have to ben seen to be believed even on my standard non HD tv the lighting is just amazing wirth dust and dirt on the screen thats more visable when light hits it it could do with more cars ,theres apprently 75 all togeather a lot of that is taken up with fords, ferraris,TVR's and lambo's ,all great cars but they should of had more than 75 so that them having a lot of cars from just the one company wouldn;t matter so much but it doesn;t matter that much theres still the DB9 ,atom ,mclaren etc the in car view is the best thing thats been updating ,theres now a steering wheel and the whole of the rest of the interior too ,and the mirror is now to the left of you not directly in front of you (and in gotham 2 the mirror was the only thing on screen apart from the speedo) the interiors are just fantastic only downside is the car handling ,which although better maybe its done too well ,because you can go round corners at 60 mph with no struggle a great game worth having if you like racing games

this is an easy reveiw if you have a 360 and you like racing games then you need this game the realisem is unparreled in any other game i have played the way the game looks is fantastic and its due to this that you get drawn in the little detial make it like dust on the window screen the way the light change when a cloud gose over the sun the way the crowd run and dissperes when you hit a barrier in front of them (and you always get one person straining there neck to see the damage done ) on live it justs get bigger with gotham tv and a drop in live championship open to all plus even in offline mode you can still race againts the worlds bets ghost cars so you can improve all the time plus you can take photos which sounds naff but its really in depth allowing you to controlle shutter speed and so on you can get some fantastic shots from it but even better is the way you can make you own course through any of the 4 citys as long or short as you want and use them to race againt your mates but there is a down side to this game the damage is a little to arcade so you can bounce around the track with out any great challange ok you lose kudos but you win the race plus you got no tuneing options for the car now if you had that then this would be the GT beater i would grumble about the lack of cars and citys but when they look this good you cant its just wrong

  • The original Kudos challenge - Speed alone will not win this race. "PGR 3" rewards the best drivers for their ability to execute bold moves as they race. • The ultimate supercar collection - Gamers can live out all their dream car fantasies as they own more cool cars than they ever thought possible. Players can take the wheel of more than 80 authentically modeled and licensed supercars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Dodge and Lamborghini. With fully modeled interiors, functioning dashboards and individually recorded engine roars, life truly begins at 170.

  • A world of living, breathing cities - "PGR 3" transports gamers to intricately modeled popular locations, including New York, Tokyo and multiple other cities. The tracks are brought to life and populated by thousands of people in the crowds - all motion-captured - making "PGR 3" a racing game that really has to be seen to be believed.

  • GothamTV takes gamers online with Xbox Live - "PGR 3" exploits next-generation worldwide connectivity to let drivers show off in front of a global online audience. With GothamTV, gamers can watch any player in the world on live news feeds, get live ticker-tape information when friends break records, and compete with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Drivers can choose to casually involve themselves in the online side of GothamTV or set out to climb the ranks and conquer the entire institution of worldwide "PGR 3" racers.

  • Customized gameplay - Gamers have asked to race their own way, and now they can. No longer are gamers forced to race cars they don't want or battle through the game just to see a city they want; how gamers play the game, and in which car, is now in their hands. And if they want to show their friends, they can go online and challenge them.

  • Real life in the living room Gamers can take their Xbox 360, "PGR 3," a television with HDTV and a Dolby? 5.1 setup, plug it in and take it away. With individually recorded engine sounds, ambient recordings at every real-life location and GothamTV's unique user interface, "PGR 3" gamers are stepping into a whole new reality.
