Dancing Stage Fusion Description

King of the Bemani dancing game, Konami has, year on year, been responsible for bringing us welcome updates to its seminal Dancing Stage series. And still showing no sign of decline, the Japanese developer has finally delivered the seventh instalment, Dancing Stage Fusion. Like those to go before it, Fusion charges players with the physical task of dancing in time with selected music tracks via a dance mat with the aid of on-screen arrow prompts. The better you dance, the more points you get. It's a simple enough process with slow tracks and easy difficulty settings, but as the tempo rises and off-beat notes are introduced, things can get a little frenetic. However, that's half the fun and it's a great excuse to burn a few calories. There are a number of familiar game modes present in fusion that include multi-player competitions and work-outs that will test physical endurance and co-ordination to the limits. And if you should equip your PS2 with the Eyetoy camera, you can even watch yourself look a fool on-screen as well as off-screen. This is great for newcomers to the Dancing Stage phenomenon, but those already skilled in the art of dancing will be looking for a new and more excruciating track list if they are to be reeled in for yet another dance-a-thon. Fortunately, Dancing Stage Fusion offers a full and varied update that includes tracks from Jamelia, Basement Jaxx, Big Brovaz, Moloko, Atomic Kitten, Kylie, Sugarbabes and the hilarious Electric Six (Danger! High Voltage!). Dancing Stage Fusion is clearly more of the same, but we wouldn't change it for the world.
