Star Wars: The Clone Wars Description

Arriving somewhat belatedly compared to the GameCube version's movie-coincidental release, Clone Wars on the PS2 nevertheless delivers the opportunity to immerse yourself in George Lucas' fantasy universe, even if you've forgotten all about the film. Aside from the supported number of players, this is essentially the same game. Developed for LucasArts by Pandemic Studios, the game sees players lead a clone army from the Republic against the rather sinister Confederacy of Independent System and their equally rather sinister leader Count Dooku. Beginning with the decision to select between the roles of Anakin, Obi-Wan or Mace Windu, players subsequently take their forces through 16 campaigns, spanning six expansive Star Wars worlds. From the desolate ruins of Rhen Var to the treetop cities of Kashyyyk, immense battles must be fought in order to prevent the Confederacy from reassembling an ancient Sith weapon of mass destruction. As all you Star Wars fanatics will be hoping, Clone Wars contains a mass of popular locations, vehicles and characters from the drawing boards of the Episode II production team. Certain objectives throughout the game allow the player to change vehicles during battle and pilot an array of units from the Republic's arsenal, including a speeder bike, AT-SX assault walker, fighter tank, and a Republic gunship. A total of 30 unique combat units are available. Introducing a sociable element to the proceedings, there are also a few unique multiplayer games to be found, including the likes of Duel, King of the Hill and Conquest. Duel presents a standard deathmatch scenario with various units from the game. King of the Hill allows players to attempt to earn points by staying in the 'control zone' for as long as possible. Conquest is a unique blend of action and strategy that challenges two teams try to destroy each other's home base. If you'd taken the decision to wait until now rather than invest in a GameCube then your patience has been rewarded. Clone Wars has finally made it to the PS2 - it's been worth the wait.
