Medal of Honor: Rising Sun Description

Right from the beginning, American publishing giant Electronic Arts knew it was onto a good thing with Medal of Honor. Telling a soldier's tale of World War II, Medal of Honor debuted on PlayStation in 1999 and was soon followed with many sequels. The series is still going strong in 2003 with the Christmas release of Medal of Honor: Rising Sun for GameCube. The second MOH game to grace Nintendo's platform, Rising Sun pits players in yet another chapter of the historic Second World War, playing host to some of the most diabolical conflicts mankind has ever seen. On this occasion players will be charged with surviving the events of Pearl Harbor, destroying the bridge over the River Kwai and executing a midnight raid on Guadalcanal before partaking in the final showdown with Colonel Shima. As with previous games in the series, Rising Sun incorporates an array of gaming strategies and elements. Some sections of the game involve players in a guns blazing massacre with a selection of 20 weapons, whilst others encourage stealth tactics. The main game can be played in two ways. Players can either go solo, or team up with a friend for a plentiful dose of co-operative gameplay. The latter is an aspect of gaming well worth having in any release, and the inclusion of a four-player deathmatch game, spread across ten multi-player levels, ensures that Rising Sun caters for both the adventurer and the trigger-happy gamer. EA has proven itself time and time again with Medal of Honor, and Rising Sun is another fine example of the company's ability to deliver an immersive and frighteningly realistic gaming experience.
