Medal of Honor: Frontline Description

It's taken a while, but Electronic Arts' seminal WWII first-person shooter has finally arrived on GameCube. A port of the PS2 version, which was released in May 2002, Medal of Honour Frontline puts players in the shoes of Lt. Jimmy Patterson, in a quest to infiltrate the German frontline and steal the HO-IX flying wing. An experimental weapon developed by the Nazis, the HO-IX was so powerful that it could have turned the tide of World War II. With the assistance of Hollywood veteran Capt. Dale Dye, assigned to certify the authenticity of the game, the developers have delivered in Frontline a multitude of scenarios based on situations throughout the War. A wide variety of gameplay premises are offered throughout the levels, with everything from stealth killing, sabotage, death-defying runs and, of course, the famous storming of Omaha Beach required of the player. The overall essence of the war has been very faithfully recreated in Frontline, with extremely detailed characters and scenery complimented by shockingly-realistic sound effects. Great smoke and dust effects and a camera that shakes along with the action add to the equation, resulting in a WWII console game currently unrivalled for authenticity. As well as the main single player mode, the GameCube version of Frontline benefits from the inclusion of a split-screen multi-player mode, which allows up to four players to battle it out head-to-head. Although not quite on a par with the excellent multiplayer matches of Medal of Honour on PC, it still makes for some fantastic deathmatch fun. In keeping with the MOH series in general, Frontline on GameCube is a top quality title, and one that can be widely considered as one of the best of its kind.

Features
Staying true to the legacy that started with the original Medal of Honor, the producers sought council from numerous outside sources to make certain the game is as historically authentic and realistic as possible. Hollywood veteran Capt. Dale Dye, who served as military consultant on the original Medal of Honor, Medal of Honor Underground, and Medal of Honor Allied Assault, again worked with the Medal of Honor Frontline team to ensure the authenticity of the game.
