Rogue Ops Description

We all know that the stealth game, though not as prolific as some genres, is one of the most respected and popular gaming ventures of recent years. Games such as Metal Gear Solid, Perfect Dark and the more recently released Splinter Cell have already become legends in gaming history. Now we look to the future, and more specifically, to Capcom's Rogue Ops for GameCube. Developed by Kemco, Rogue Ops features every plotline cliche that you might expect from your average adventure video game. It boasts a spandex-clad and well-proportioned girl named Nikki, who is on a revenge mission to bring down the forces that killed her husband and daughter some time ago. We're sure you'll agree it's nothing special, but it does make a good premise for a stealth adventure, and that's the whole point. The adventure itself is a third-person affair in which, like most other stealth games, players are charged with the task of progressing through a variety of baddy-infested levels (eight of them in this case) complete with useful ledges and corners that must be used for stealth purposes. Nikki has the ability to spy on her enemies using several handy gadgets, and she's well-versed in hand-to-hand combat. She is an ex-Green Beret after all. Most of the mission objectives entail Nikki either evading her enemies or taking them out quietly, and to do this she comes armed with stealth-ammo, dart gun, sniper-rifle and x-ray vision, to name but a few. Rogue Ops is a visually impressive effort from Kemco, and thought it doesn't have the finesse of its well-known Konami-developed competitor, it's still a game well worth experiencing.

Features
Eight challenging missions will put players to the test, each containing new objectives, characters and obstacles. As Nikki interacts with fellow team members and foes, Rogue Ops provides an engaging and often sharp-tongued dialogue, giving additional life to the storyline and advancing the plot as players delve deeper into gameplay. The game's soundtrack and outstanding audio effects set an additional tone for Rogue Ops, immersing players deep into the world of government operations as they move from mission to mission.

Trained for survival in any situation, Rogue Ops leading lady uses her training, skills and determination to survive and succeed in her undercover world. Innovative stealth elements provide players with precise mission execution, as Nikki can blend in shadows, pick the pockets of unsuspecting guards, and use a novel stealth combo combat system. Additionally, the game's design allows Nikki to carry and conceal the bodies of enemies, leaving no trace of her presence behind for the Omega 19 regime to discover.

An expert with stealth weapons, firearms and explosives, Nikki has a multitude of special tools at her disposal. Ten weapons are featured in the game, including a variety of pistols, dart gun, sniper rifle, grenades and mines. Devices such as a special vision mode that combines infrared, low light and x-ray vision are also present to reveal hidden dangers throughout gameplay.
