ShellShock: Nam '67 immerses you in the most controversial conflict of modern times: The Vietnam War. Taking on the role of a rookie on his first tour of duty, you will experience the fear, chaos and atrocities of the Vietnam War. From the napalm bombardments of civilian villages and the gruesome Viet Cong (VC) booby traps, to the permanent threat of invisible foes and deadly ambushes, ShellShock: Nam '67 dares to go where no other war game has gone.
It's January 1967. After being drafted and completing basic training, you are plunged into the steamy jungles of Indochina. Heroic ideals of fighting for honor and country quickly fade in the face of the fierce warfare: there is no glory in death. As a rookie soldier, you must quickly learn the finer arts of jungle and urban warfare to become a battle-hardened soldier and survive your first tour of duty.
Your base camp forms the central focus for your Operations, with your primary objective to pacify threats from the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army (NVA). You will need to venture deep into the hostile Vietnamese countryside to search out and destroy enemy troops and encampments. With visibility low, potentially every bush and tree could be an enemy-hiding place. Only by careful observation and hastily learnt war craft shall the enemy be overcome

| The game is impressive and shocking. But I don't think it is very well executed. It is quite hard to aim accurately and hit the bad guys (and girls). And they just keep on coming, the biggest issue is dealing with the ammo situation. I found dismantling the booby traps in time quite hard and because of the linear format of the game not something that you can bypass. To sum it up I got bored quite quickly after getting bogged down. So possibly the game gets better futher on in, it just didn't work for me | ||

| Good game overall, was certainly better than what some game review sites had said it was. Good graphics, and the AI wasnt too bad. Feels abit strange playing a shooter in third person rather than first person as you're most used to looking striaght down the sights for targeting in first person. I found the game crashed on me 3 or 4 times at various stages, so if you've just done a tricky section it might be a good idea to come out the game & save your profile every now & then..save having to repeat hard sections!..it took me about 10.5 hours to complete this at the normal setting. I'd actually rate this game at 3.5 out of 5 | ||
