SAW (PS3) Description

You've watched the films, now experience the terror of SAW with the official computer game. Seems that wretched fiend Jigsaw just won't go away, as it appears the evil antagonist has taken control of an abandoned mental asylum and transformed it into a bespoke chamber of horrors. It’s all about life appreciation, don’t you know. Detective David Tapp is shot, and Jigsaw heals his wound - for a price. The killer places Tapp in his maniacal playhouse. Shocking meat-grinding utensils and vicious headgear is the order of the day here, and the only way to escape this terror palace is to play Jigsaw's twisted game. You must challenge the nutcase by overcoming various traps and dangers, and if you haven't been minced by horrific gadgets then the puzzles laid out in each room might just scramble your brain beyond repair. Using cutting-edge graphics to fully realise the strange and bizarre atmosphere of SAW, you control Tapp as he explores the asylum and beats up crazies that try to kill him. You can tackle your foes head on using hand-to-hand combat or weapons, or you can be more savvy and use some of Jigaw’s own traps against his goons. You’re not always alone in this game of horrors. AI teammates can help you overcome certain obstacles, and multiple paths allows for Tapp to experience different things and meet different people on each play through. For those looking for a dedicated SAW ambience, this will provide the scare of your life!

SILENT HILL + MANHUNT = SAW This game was a fantastic surprise - it totally went against all my expectations. I suppose you'll be asking yourself "how is a saw game going to work?". Believe me, it works. I thought it was going to be another lackluster tie-in. Boy was I wrong! This game doesn't mess about - you get pulled straight into the action. It takes place in a darkened, derelict asylum, full of nasty surprises & even spookier characters. You need to use weapons & quick-wit to survive not only the enemies, but the various 'games' that jigsaw has kindly left for you to take part-in in order to progress. Full of blood, gore, twists & turns, this game is absolutely awesome! I urge you to experience this game. You won't be disappointed!

The game did what I didnt think was possible with most movie-tie-in games.... ..it was actually good! Yes, difficult, gory, graphically slightly poor, but mainly a very good game. Its one you just want to complete....and boy does it tax your mind...... the voice acting, jigsaw...it feels very eerie and spooky in parts.... Have you been sinful? Rent it......"You'll want to play a game"

Saw: The Video Game, said to reveal secrets from the films you never knew... not really but I rented this game from Blockbusters thinking that I would only need a week to play, knowing movie based games are usually pretty short and easy..... WRONG. This game has been fantistically developed and should be considered unless you are under 18 as it is scary even for a regular gamer like me. You play as Detective Tapp and work your way through an abandoned asylum which has been made to Jigsaw's devious games and you work your way through by confusing and diffucult tasks like finding keys and deactivating traps, and at the end of each chapter saving the main victim which you save by using different functioned things to deactivate the trap such as junction boxes. The cutscenes are very graphic though they lack in extreme detail they are still very gory with lots of blood. Saw took its time to be completed by the developers and any gamer but it it was well worth the wait for either.

I preordered this title before it came out without reading any reviews or even seeing any screenshots. I liked the films and so i preordered it. Before it was due to come out i was thinking about cancelling it because films that are made into games are usually rubbish but thank god i didnt. What a fantastic game this is. The best survival horror game i have played since the original resident evil games. The storyline is great. Basically you play as a detective who has an obsession about finding Jigsaw, all the traps you have to complete are amazing, you have to be on the look out for traps all through the game eg. tripwire shotguns. The minnions add to it because all these guys have the deadly collar on and Jigsaw has the key implanted inside you so there out to kill you to get the key from your body. You can beat them down with iron bars, baseball bats or just lead them to a trap. Through different chapters there is someone you have to save and you have to play the game correctly to ensure they survive if not, like jigsaw says 'Game Over'. This is a mixture between Manhunt on the ps2 & classic resident evil. I was expecting a poor game but this is one of the best games i have played this year. FANTASTIC GAME!!

For fans of survival horror, i can't see this game being welcomed with open arms, but for a genre that hasn't seen many releases for a while it might just fill the gap until something else comes along. The game replicates the atmosphere from the movie very well, and with the eerie music to the echoes you hear as you search the corridors of the dilapidated sanitarium, it sets the mood for an atmospheric experience in game play. As you track down Jigsaw you come across many puzzles you have to overcome too progress, some become repetitive as the game progresses. The combat is basic but more emphasis has been put into making traps and the use of your environment to defeat your foes. Overall it's not a bad game, it's a welcome break from the usual third person games.
