Tales of Vesperia (Xbox 360)

Tales of Vesperia (Xbox 360) review

Okay, when this game arrived and i started playing it, i thought to myself, "oh, a pretty generic looking start to a JRPG, i TOTALLY haven't seen anything like this before" and yeah, it was sarcasm, but that sarcasm started to fade away after about 30 minutes of playtime. Tales of Vesperia is another addition to the series of games with Tales on the front of the name, i have never played a tales game but i am glad that i started off with this game because this game is pretty much what a JRPG should be, even if it has some very minor flaws that happen to show up quite alot. The voice acting is pretty good with some of the character sounding so bad-ass that you look forward to every time they speak (Duke) and the visuals look like they had alot of work put into them, with the anime/3D graphics that looks extremely familiar with Eternal Sonata, and it works. So yeah, if you are a fan of JRPG's and you are looking for a game that you want to sink ALOT of time into, they pick up Tales of Vesperia, because hey, nothings perfect.

Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360)

Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360) review

First off i'd like to say that Ive played every single game in the resident evil series, and i really cant decide if this should be allowed to be a sequel to the series. Don't get me wrong, if the games before it were not as good this game would be great, but they are great, and it just shows that Capcom are really running out of ideas. You start off walking through a African village and it really shows the dusty and dirty looks of the current state of Africa (Ohohoho, nice way to attempt to counteract the accusations of racism there Capcom!) and it quickly starts going into the same type of thing that happened in resident evil 4, (Even the chainsaw guy makes a comeback!) All in all i'd say that it just feels safe, it doesn't take any major risks in trying to be anything new and exciting, yes its great when the big guy with a chainsaw comes the first time but it starts to get stale after the third. Worth a rent, wouldn't really be a decent buy but it would keep you occupied until the big new release of resident evil 757238263534562586.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP)

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP) review

Final Fantasy VII has always been one of few bastion's of light in the bleak swamp that i like to call the games industry. When i first heard about there being a prequel to this game then it got me jumping for joy and had me eagerly awaiting. I'm glad to say that this game didn't disappoint me one bit. Crisis Core has you leading in the shoes of Zack Fair, a soldier (elite military unit) 2nd class and has you demanding more as soon as you see the opening cut-scene, and it does quench your appetite. Players of the first game will feel at home with the soundtrack, as it has remakes of all the old PS1 tunes, but with better sounds, and will have you humming them for days on end. People who haven't played the first game will still see crisis core as accessible though, with the characters pulling at your heartstrings at all the right times, making you feel like you know all the characters, and that is what many game developers seem to try valiantly and fail to do in today's gaming market. To sum up, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a MUST HAVE if you own a PSP and you are even remotely connected to the series of games that is Final Fantasy VII.
