Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (XB)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (XB) review

This was and still is my favorite game of all time. I have yet to play a better game and i still own the game now and sometimes place it into my 360 for a replay. I have worn this game out and still i am not bored of it. This game got me into role playing games and i cant understand why there hasnt been a 2nd sequel released for the xbox 360. With other star wars games being released i dont understand why it hasnt had a look in. It was 2003 game of the year so it deserves another sequel. If you havent played this game you will love it, even if your not a star wars fan you will still love this game. Excellent.

SAW (Xbox 360)

SAW (Xbox 360) review

I preordered this title before it came out without reading any reviews or even seeing any screenshots. I liked the films and so i preordered it. Before it was due to come out i was thinking about cancelling it because films that are made into games are usually rubbish but thank god i didnt. What a fantastic game this is. The best survival horror game i have played since the original resident evil games. The storyline is great. Basically you play as a detective who has an obsession about finding Jigsaw, all the traps you have to complete are amazing, you have to be on the look out for traps all through the game eg. tripwire shotguns. The minnions add to it because all these guys have the deadly collar on and Jigsaw has the key implanted inside you so there out to kill you to get the key from your body. You can beat them down with iron bars, baseball bats or just lead them to a trap. Through different chapters there is someone you have to save and you have to play the game correctly to ensure they survive if not, like jigsaw says 'Game Over'. This is a mixture between Manhunt on the ps2 & classic resident evil. I was expecting a poor game but this is one of the best games i have played this year. This is the game im putting in my xbox straight away and it wont come out until i complete it. FANTASTIC GAME!!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Xbox 360)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Xbox 360) review

For some reason i always seem to add the Harry Potter games to my rental list and end up not giving them the time of day and send them straight back, but i decided to give this game the benefit of the doubt and play it all the way through and i was hooked, always thinking ill do the next mission then turn it off but i couldn't. I'm not a Harry Potter fan and have never really seen any of the films only bits here and there but for a Harry Potter fan this would be a dream game. It is however very easy but i guess it will be mostly a childrens game so that is to be expected. I was very impressed with this game and definately worth a rent even if you hate Harry Potter you will still think its a good game. A good game to boost your achievement score too. Top game.

Night at the Museum 2: The Video Game (Xbox 360)

Night at the Museum 2: The Video Game (Xbox 360) review

This game is very very easy to complete and improve your gamerscore. How easy the game is clearly indicate its a game for children. The graphics are nice apart from Ben Stiller seems to have stick legs. Ben Stillers voice makes the game aswell. The puzzles in the game are very easy and you will complete this within 3 hours. Definatly worth a rent if you like platform games and even though it is easy I did enjoy this game. If the game was longer and the puzzles were a bit more challenging than i do believe it would be a good game worthy of 4 stars. Children will like this game and it feel it will appeal to them more but a good effort seeing as most movie titles are flops.

[PROTOTYPE] (PS3)

[PROTOTYPE] (PS3) review

This game is great if you just want to smash anything up, you play Alex who is close to invincible. He can jump off buildings and not die, he is fast, powerfull and has the ability to consume people. When I played the this for the first time it looked disappointing, all you were doing was fighting repetivly with monsters and I thought it would be like this all the way through. How wrong I was, after the opening level you go back to when you first infected and have to learn your powers from scratch. The missions are really good and you also have the chance of free roaming. You also have the ability to consume any person in the game even civilians, you consume them and can morph into them which is good for evading the military. All in all i gave this 4 stars, it's a really good action game but I still feel it lacks something. Definatly worth renting but you have to give it time i feel. First impressions may put you off but play through it and it will get interesting.

WSC Real 09 (PS3)

WSC Real 09 (PS3) review

Ok lets be honest, if your considering renting this you must have the slight bit of interest in snooker. I don't mind watching snooker from time to time so i thought i would rent this. After the previous snooker title i played WCS2007 i was hoping for much improvement and i got it. The graphics are alot better I just wish John Virgo would stop talking such rubbish throughout the frame. The commentary is very repetitive and if you make mistakes in the frame the computer seems to clear up very easily. The game can be frustrating at first and you really have to be clued up about how to play real snooker if you want to be the best at this game. The turorials in my opinion dont offer much about how to play the game because even they are frustrating. Pool is an easier game to master. Overall because i like snooker i give it 4 out of 5. But please if you don't like snooker i recommend you leave this title alone.

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (PS3)

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (PS3) review

As a fan of Mortal Kombat games I thought this addition was great. I like the idea of cuts and bruises appearing during combat and the introduction of DC characters is welcomed. It's also good that the Mortal Kombat characters fatalities are easier to perform than in previous versions and the DC characters have there own Brutalities. The story mode is also good but in my opinion too short, with 2 stories, 1 for MK and 1 for DC. The Arcade mode is challenging even on easy, i don't think I would stand a chance on very hard. Aswell as the Arcade mode and Story mode there is also a Kombat challenge mode which helps you perfect those combos. Achievements are fairly easy for this game. Overall i gave it 4 stars because I am a fan of the Mortal Kombat series but can understand some peoples opinion of this game to be low. Still I like it and think it's a decent Mortal Kombat title.

Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (PS3)

Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (PS3) review

This game is great for anybody who owned a megadrive in their school days. Some great sega titles are included but where is Castle of Illusion, quackshot and Tazmania (which to my knowledge were made by sega). These could of replaced some poor games like flicky. But to play Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2 and all the sonic games again was great. I dont think this will appeal to younger gamers because they could see the majority of games too repetitive but thats how it was. Great gaming, just a few more titles should of been added or replaced because the amount of Megadrive games you can fit on one disc is a hell of a lot more than whats on offer on this disc. This would of been easily a 5 star game if more classics were on this disc, maybe they are planning a part 2 collection. I hope so.

Resident Evil 5 (PS3)

Resident Evil 5 (PS3) review

What has happened to the Resident Evil games? This game to me isn't a Resident Evil game. The storyline is rubbish compared to previous Resident Evil titles, it seems it has changed from a survival horror game to a third person shooter. As a big fan of Resident Evil 1-4 (and all the inbetweeners) i was very dissapointed. But Resident Evil aside, this game is not bad, i am reviewing this game solely on previous Resident Evil titles which is a bit wrong. If your new to Resident Evil games and you was to play this you would see that it is not a bad title at all, the graphics are great and the co op play is a great addition. If this game wasn't called Resident Evil 5 i would give it 4 stars but for a Resident Evil title based on previous games i had to give it just 3 stars. The only good thing to me about renting this is that i didn't waste money buying it.
