Bioshock (PS3)

Bioshock (PS3) review

I owe a lot to this game. before playing this game I was close to giving up video games. As i considered whether I was starting to get maybe a little to old for video games, i played many of the popular games at the moment and got bored. In started to play this game with little hope of it resurrecting my interest in my PS3. Boy was I wrong. In my opinion this is THE game of the PS3. It has a unique blend of awesome graphics, story line and gameplay. It is creepy enough to keep you on your toes and raise the hair on your arms without totally freakin you out, such as games like silent hill and condemned. The story line is in depth and thoughtful. I really cannot praise this game enough!

inFamous (PS3)

inFamous (PS3) review

This game is utter genius. Combining a GTA style open world system where you unlock more of the world as you progress, with a superhero style game using Star Wars type powers (as mentioned in the review above). This is one of the, if not the best super hero game that I have ever come across. It has a depth the the story which combines with the excellent gameplay to create a gaming experience that compares to the first Metal Gear Solid game for the PS1, and for me personally is the best game that I have played since then. Will win award after award after award so its worth getting this game out to rent for sure!

The Orange Box (PS3)

The Orange Box (PS3) review

The main strength of this game is its graphics. To be honest it felt like I was walking through a piece of art as I moved through the levels. I found the gameplay and the stregth of the story to lack a lot of the innovation that has been brought to the first person shooter genre over the last couple of years and in this sense the game feels a little aged. Its not the best game that I have ever played, and to be honest I got a little bored in the main story mode, and its definately the multiplayer that makes this game worth renting.

Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3)

Tom Clancy's EndWar (PS3) review

I really didnt enjoy this game. The history books will only remember this game for the voice control element to it which I have to admit is pretty cool, though it does not combine with what can only be described as a game with practically no story line and very limited gameplay. The gameplay works in such a way that one particurlar unit is vulnerable and strong against other units leaving the game feeling like a glorified rock, paper, scissors game, admittedly with a very clever voice control system via you bluetooth headset. If you enjoy gimmicks and have a bluetooth headset it may be enjoyable to you, though dont expect much depth in this game. When are they going to bring Jack Ryan to the PS3?.

Call of Duty: World at War (PS3)

Call of Duty: World at War (PS3) review

A good game and a natural follow up to COD4. Like most COD games it is the multiplayer that ultimately makes or breaks it. If you enjoyed COD4 multiplayer then this game will not dissapoint, nor will it blow your socks off though. There is nothing about this game that improves on the COD4 game (they use the same engine) and is essentially just COD4 but in a new environment. The multiplayer will keep you entertained for hours on end which is why I gave this game 3 stars.

LittleBigPlanet (PS3)

LittleBigPlanet (PS3) review

I do feel harsh giving this game only two stars, though I'm guessing this is the kind of game that was never intended for my agegroup anyway so it is as much my problem as the games. It is a relatively simple platform gamer that will definately interest the younger gamers (like 11yrs and below) though is definately not the game for you if you like tough puzzles as this game is simply a matter of getting from begining to end without landing on spikes. I suppose I'm just a sonic boy at heart!

Battlefield: Bad Company (PS3)

Battlefield: Bad Company (PS3) review

This game is an incredible one and is one that I come back to when my rented games are in transit (i own it) The multiplayer online is immense and compares to Call of duty pretty well and lacks the 'arena feel' that can often get a little annoying in Call of Duty 4. My only criticism (and a very relevant and popular one if you do a little google search) is that there is no way of playing a multiplayer game with your friends who are in the room with you, you can only play multiplayer online. Top game.

Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3)

Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) review

Veterans of the series will like it. Niko is as cool as any of the other main characters. The graphics as ever are pretty groundbreaking. Some of the coolest aspects of San adreas dont return in this game (such as the push bike and flying aeroplanes) but there are some new pretty cool features, such as e-mail etc. Definately worth a play, I've had this one for around two weeks and hardly ever got bored of it. Would recommend.

Condemned 2 (PS3)

Condemned 2 (PS3) review

The graphics are just incredible on this game. Still getting used to PS3 graphics on my new HDTV, it is sick. I never played the first installment of this game, but I found that this game stood on its own pretty well, there were very few occasions (if any) that I thought that I didnt know what was going on because I didnt play the first one. The story could do with a little work maybe, as it is definately the gameplay and puzzles that make this such a compelling game. In terms of spookability I would say that this game is a little spooky a few times (plenty of goosebumps, lol) but it is nowhere near as scary as silent hill for example, so dont let that worry you. I imagine that if you like fairly dark games you will like this one. there is plenty of puzzles and action to be had and I expect you wont be dissapointed.

Warhawk (PS3)

Warhawk (PS3) review

Awfully designed concept. From what I gather there is no means whatsoever of honing your skills in a single player campaign. Instead you recieve some incredibly brief 'training' and told to go online where you could be playing against beginers such as yourself or absolute veterans. Would definately not recommend.
