Army of Two (Xbox 360)

Army of Two (Xbox 360) review

1st things `1st there are a lot of mixed opinions about this however I will give you clear facts and let you decide. Army of Two is a great looking 3rd person shooter which can also be played in coop online or offline. The single player is good takes roughly about 6 hours to beat. What’s good throughout the campaign is the option to unlock and upgrade your weapons as you progress, from handguns to rocket launchers to snipers they all can be upgraded one way or another. Some big changes others small but it’s all trial and error which is excellent because everybody plays different. Another unique feature on this game is aggro. Aggro basically is where your causing a lot of destruction and attention and the enemies will be focusing more on you and you partner will practically become invisible and can easily flank and take out the enemies from behind. This is key to progress in certain parts of the game. Even though the single player is good the game really comes alive in coop with a friend. Using your own tactics, flanking using riot shields even dragging your wounded friend to safety is what coop brings to this great game. If you’re happy after beating the game you can also play online as with a few modes. There’s a 2 vs. 2 which requires all teamwork to win so it’s more fun and enjoyable. Overall this is a great game not for everyone to go out and buy but 100% worth a rent you will not be disappointed if you give it a try.

Heavenly Sword (PS3)

Heavenly Sword (PS3) review

Was a release title and is an excellent one at that. The graphics and gamplay are amazing. The game runs very smoothly and after a bit of practice you can easily pull of some amazing combos with ease. Its a good action adventure game with a mix of fighting a few puzzles and some cool bosses to get through. You actually get to use the six axis motion controls as well adding a little more depth to the game and keeping the game play fresh. There like mini games where you have to use a sniper etc. The game can easily feel epic when you are fighting over hundreds of enemies at once and you have all the awesome moves at your disposal. Overall excellent game the only the thing that holds this game back for some is the length. It is quite short overall roughly about 7 hours to complete. Which might be short for some but perfect for a rent. The game is excellent for a rent but a purchase might leave you short handed.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3)

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3) review

This is one of the best 1st person shooters out there on any console. The graphics are amazing and game play is excellent. The single player has alot going on and keeps you in action at all times. It can take roughly over 5 hours to complete and keeps you on your toes all the way through. The multiplayer is what elevates this to another level. There are levels to upgrade your character unlocking more weapons and tools of destruction the more you play the more you want to level up. Even when you reach level 55 the highest you can prestige and reset your stats and do it again to unlock even more weapons. This game has so much to offer in single player and multiplayer, purchase or rent you cannot go wrong.Excellent!

Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360)

Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360) review

Left 4 dead is an amazing game. It is a zombie, survival, 1st person shooter. Even though there is single player you can play it with upto four other people in coop. This is what brings out the best in the game. The graphics are great with lots of zombies heading towards you it runs smooth. You have 4 different characters to play with. There are some killer zombies too. The hunter will pin you down and claw you untill you die or a team mate saves you. The witch can instantly kill you one hit and the tank also can knock you about with ease. It has a mix of zombies and lots of weapons to keep the game fresh and keep you coming back for more. One of the best modes to play is vs mode where you can actually become the zombies themselves. Your your aim is to stop the humans from reaching there destination and vice versa. This is alot of fun regardless of which side you are if you have 3 other friends to play with it can be one of the best coop games. Definitely worth a rent and if you have friends to play with a worthy purchase

Tekken 6 (Xbox 360)

Tekken 6 (Xbox 360) review

The top 3d fighting game series Is back and better then ever. The graphics are amazing, the game play is as smooth as ever and the presentation incredible. It has been a while since the last tekken game and it was worth the wait. After spending a lengthy time playing everything this game has to offer there are still tons to learn and master. Whether you are a newcomer or a veteran this game will definitely grab your attention. It’s not just another 3d fighting game its much more then that.1st off it has 40 characters, yes 40 characters to play with. With there own styles and unique abilities. They all have there own story line and paths to follow. As well as all these characters there are also lots of modes. For beginners for example there is an excellent practice mode, so you can pick a character and get to grips with all the basics and learn to become a master at your own pace. There’s an arcade mode when you are ready for a one on one battle, but one mode called scenario mode is totally another experience. You pick your character and follow a brand new story path in a 3d streets of rage style beat em up. You collect items and power ups which switch the game to an rpg/3d scrolling beat em up. This can easily take over at least 4 hours to get through. It is very enjoyable and a good challenge. Even after you complete the game with all the characters and master them. There is an online mode to then test your skills when you are ready making the incredible game even better. Definitely a purchase, for fighting fans and a rent for those who are tempted.

X-Blades (Xbox 360)

X-Blades (Xbox 360) review

X-blades is basically a hack n slash adventure game. The graphics are average as well the game play. The look is slightly different then most as it is cel shaded giving it more of an anime look. You play as one main character through the entire game Ayumi. You start off with basic attacks but as you progress you start to learn new abilities. Adding a slight rpg element in that you can upgrade your swords your guns your special attacks by collecting souls. These souls can be collected by killing enemies performing tasks, competing levels they can also be found by destroying the scenery. The game can get repetitive at times especially when facing the same enemy over and over again. The upgrades do make a difference and when you learn magic’s, abilities. Certain enemies can only be killed by specific magic’s. Giving the game a bit more depth, however you do feel you are playing the same levels over and over. Some people may like it but I cannot honestly recommend it as a purchase if you are curious about it rent it first and take it from there.

Devil May Cry 4 (PS3)

Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) review

Having played and completed the entire devil may cry games. I was happy to have this game on the ps3 as well as you should be if you get in on the xbox 360. Devil may cry 4 is an excellent hack/slash/action adventure game. For the 1st time in the series you actually play as the new hero Nero. He controls very differently to Dante, who you get to play with for the other half of the game. Keeping the action fresh, welcoming for new comers. Nero is easy to use and you get all the tips to master him also. The graphics are amazing and there are plenty of unique enemies to fight. As well as the huge bosses. As you progress through the game you can learn new abilities and skills. Using orbs to access them adds replay value as does completing the game you can replay it with all of your upgrades. Once you complete the game you also unlock bloody palace mode. Where you work your way through 101 levels of pure non-stop action of hordes of enemies and bosses. Even when you complete these modes there are added difficulty levels as well. There is just so much to this game you will be happy renting regardless and if you do like it a worth purchase for sure.

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (PS3)

Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (PS3) review

As far as beat em ups go I enjoyed this for a rent. The idea of a crossover is a fresh change especially for mortal kombat and dc. They are totally different from each other in a good way. The graphics are good and the game play is fairly smooth. After a bit of practice you can pull of a few combos easily. There are 22 fighters to choose from overall. There’s also a couple of modes to try as well adding some variety. The story mode is good adding depth to the game. Once completed you can also play online and complete the combo challenges. Unless you’re a big fan of dc or mortal kombat I can only recommend this as a rent 1st as its good but not great.
