Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Wii)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Wii) review

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a pretty average hack'n'slash RPG based on the X-Men Legends engine, with absolutely horrendous tacked-on Wii controls. In a game where attacking enemies hundreds of times in an hour is part of the general gameplay, having to swing, stab and flick the controller to perform each action becomes tiresome very quickly, and just goes to show exactly why mediocre PS2 ports aren't best suited to the system.

Resident Evil 4 (Wii)

Resident Evil 4 (Wii) review

While the many GOTY awards and rave reviews would have you think otherwise, Resident Evil 4 has barely evolved from it's early incarnations. The Wii version is plagued by awkward controls that could easily have been remedied, whilst the game in general suffers from some terrible dialogue, heavily unforgiving gameplay and long periods of tedium whilst the game attempts to build up tension it's not actually capable of providing. Whilst fans of the series will love it as ever, those who found the laughable excuse for gameplay on the earliest games should still steer clear.
