Red Faction: Guerrilla (Xbox 360)

Red Faction: Guerrilla (Xbox 360) review

Solid title but ent the way of the sandbox game for me. Spent a few hours of continuous play in the first couple of days then lost interest. The mars setting gave me a total recall feel to the game. The added features of the destructable enviroment is fun but as with many sandbox games it can't help but be repetetive. If that style of game is your thing you shouldn;t be particularly dissappointment with this. It's a rental rather than a purchase and I had fun with the time I spent on it - but I'm done with it now after only a few hours.

Ghostbusters The Video Game (PS3)

Ghostbusters The Video Game (PS3) review

Bustin really does make you feel good. This game looks gorgeous and the gameplay is also cool. It follows a re very linear route which suit the game's movie type style. There are some very minor glitches in terms of progressing the story but they are hardly worth mentioning and don't detract from the overall experience. The plot is engaging and in typical Ghostbusters style (to be expected given the wrting credits) - the humour elicits a grin rathert than belly laughs. The game is quite short by todays standards which makes this a perfect rental rather than outright purchase.

Saints Row (Xbox 360)

Saints Row (Xbox 360) review

I had more fun with this than GTA IV even though it didnt receive anywhere near the same level of critical acclaim. Not played SR2 which is by many accounts better. Its not bad if you like the GTA style of game and I think it has a better sense of humour.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) review

Didn't get it and I tried honestly i did. I can see how this is a good single player RPG. I just don;t understand the level of critical acclaim it received. This was the game that was the 360 system seller for and i was bitterly dissappointed with the game, but fortunately not the system.

Shadowrun (Xbox 360)

Shadowrun (Xbox 360) review

not bad for a purly multiplayer shooter. some nice twists in the powers and equipment. th use of the shadowrun IP is pretty much as a waste of time. definitely worth a rental and if your aN MP head then its worth picking it up if you can find it cheap

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3) review

Serviceable shooter. Very good selection of weapons and some nice alien bad guys. Was still expecting something better from the PS3 but I still played all the way through. Story and a lot of level design is by the numbers although the last few levels are worth playing towards.

Mass Effect (Xbox 360)

Mass Effect (Xbox 360) review

the main industry criticisms of this game, namely texture popping and inventory issues do not detract from what is a fantastic space rpg experience. superb story - well realised characters - engaging backdrop : all leave you wanting more. the side missions are a bit samey but are not necessary to complete the main plot line. first part of what has been pegged as a trilogy

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise (Xbox 360)

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise (Xbox 360) review

if you liked the first viva pinata you'll like this. its pretty much theh same game with a few bit added on like co-op play. Its a colourful isometric managment game with a highly original back drop. Don't be put off by the fact that this looks like its produced for a 5 year old. It isn't and its quite capable of sucking you in. It exhibits all the usual hallmarks of Rare.

Prince of Persia 4 (Xbox 360)

Prince of Persia 4 (Xbox 360) review

the best thing i can say about this game is its pretty. thats about the only good thing i can say about it. it present zero challenge as the gameplay is soooo easy. the story isn't especially compelling. if you absolutely loved assasins creed you might like this. very forgettable title.

Fallout 3 (Xbox 360)

Fallout 3 (Xbox 360) review

just couldn't get on with it although i appreciate the quality in the production of this game. i didn't think that oblivion was all it was cracked up to be and this plays in very much the same way. i liked the idea of the vats combat system (probably more than its execution). it looks awesome - the acting is very good and i suspect for those that like post apocolyptic zombie type baddies you will love it. there is no doubt that this is a high end product but in the end i just found the whole thing a bit boring. still its a game i would advise anyone to try for themselves because if you can get into it, this game will keep you going for hours and hours.
