Timshift is brought to you by a relatively unknown developer called Saber interactive. It’s a First Person Shooter with a Time Control mechanism. You’ll be able to freeze, slow and even reverse time – even with these facilities at your disposal, is Timeshift worth your time? The game casts you as a nameless, faceless scientist who sets after a fellow scientist who had stolen the ‘ALPHA suit’ a... Timshift is brought to you by a relatively unknown developer called Saber interactive. It’s a First Person Shooter with a Time Control mechanism. You’ll be able to freeze, slow and even reverse time – even with these facilities at your disposal, is Timeshift worth your time? The game casts you as a nameless, faceless scientist who sets after a fellow scientist who had stolen the ‘ALPHA suit’ and changed history to suit his own desires. Immediately you’ll strap yourself into the less effective ‘BETA’ suit and begin your journey through time. Slowing time will allow you more opportunity to line up shots, freezing time is exactly what it sounds like and even allows you to steal the weapons from your enemies hands and reversing time will undo all actions and is mostly required for puzzle solving. If you’ve played Max Payne then you might know the joys of bullet time, the same is true here. Each of the three functions is governed by regenerative meter; slowing time uses the least where as freezing and reversing time quickly deplete your resource. The games default difficulty is such that you will from time to time reply upon your time controlling abilities to beat a particular battle. As well as an arsenal of the usual weapons you’re used to you’ll be able to get behind the seat of heavy guns and drive buggies. Timeshift has clean graphics but a rather dull colour pallet coupled with odd looking character models leaves the overall presentation somewhat lacking. The frame rate is solid throughout and I encounter no serious bugs during my playtime. The story only serves as a means to an end with no interesting characters and no memorable narrative. Online is a mixed bag, despite some clever game modes the games fails to capture a large audience. The shooting and movement is sped up from the campaign giving the game an Unreal Tournament feel; with modern standards what they are, this just doesn’t hold up well. Timeshift is an average game, difficult to justify at full retail price but worth it at half retail if you really want another first person shooter and have exhausted all the better ones out there. Fans of F.E.A.R and Max Payne will appreciate the well implemented time controls in another wise unimpressive game. More »

Being a massive fan of Call Of Duty from the start I thought it was going to be strange going from World War 2 to the modern day era. However it is absolutely amazing!. The locations are different and a lot better than the previous COD games with places like Russia and the Ukraine being the main settings as opposed to the usual Normandy setting used in the previous ones.
