Call of Duty 3 (Wii) review

Initially, I was rather exicted to receive Call of Duty 3 through the post. I had heard a number of pretty good reviews and wanted to experience this FPS for myself. However, a few hours in to the game and I find myself at a stand-still. I want to carry on with the gripping, tense storyline, yet I feel reluctant to do so due to the, quite frankly, abysmal framerate that comes with the tense battle... Initially, I was rather exicted to receive Call of Duty 3 through the post. I had heard a number of pretty good reviews and wanted to experience this FPS for myself. However, a few hours in to the game and I find myself at a stand-still. I want to carry on with the gripping, tense storyline, yet I feel reluctant to do so due to the, quite frankly, abysmal framerate that comes with the tense battle scenes. It's also important to note that the game comes with NO multiplayer option. Graphics: 2/5 Pretty good for the Wii, especially since this was a launch title. However, the framerate in the intense battle scenes really do ruin the flow of the game and really do make it frustrating to play. Sound: 3/5 Nothing new for the WWII game. Good music and sound effects mixed with mediocre voice acting. Controls: 3/5 Generally very good. I found moving around and interacting the my environment generally easy and fun to do. However, some of action placements could have been looked over before release. For example: Using the '-' to reload really is awkward. The last thing you want to do in the middle of a big shoot-out is move your hand position away from the other generic controls just to reload. The same goes for changing your gun. Gameplay: 2/5 To me, this game had a lot of potential. I really had a lot of fun playing the game. It's a very atmospheric WWII game, but the framerate glitch was just too frustrating (and often unplayable) in heavy fire situations. Overall: 2.5/5 If the developer's had sorted out the appauling framerate and other little issues that this game presents, then I would recommend purchasing this game. However, because of these factors, I cannot even recommend renting the game. I had a lot of fun playing what I did of the game, but when I was confronted with the framerate issue that I have mentioned throughout, I just ended up turning the game off and sending it back. It was a shame really, as it had a lot of potential to be a really entertaining experience. More »

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (Wii) review

After a couple consecutive letdowns, EA finally got golf right again. Instead of clawing your way to the top after starting with a zero-skill golfer, series veterans and newcomers alike can jump in and be evaluated on their own skills, and watch their ratings dynamically adjust after each round they play. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (Wii) review

A great golfing game and better than 06. Multiplayer is worth playing alone, graphically it's very sharp and the gmeplay is spot on. There's a custom-character mode in this and the options are staggering. It's a god rental for a long weekend and even if you're not a huge golf fan you'll appreciate this.
