James Cameron's Avatar: The Game (PS3) Description

With James Cameron’s self-professed magnum opus hitting the big screen, you too can stage your very own intergalactic Cowboys and Indians stand-off with Avatar: The Game. Following events from the upcoming movie, you will explore the alien planet called Pandora and get thrown into the middle of the conflict between the indigenous Na’vi people and the colonising RDA Corporation. The Na’vi have lived on Pandora since time began, and have co-existed with all the other wonderful life forms that the planet offers. It is when the RDA arrive to seek Pandora’s valuable natural resources that war breaks out, and it is up to you to fight for the heart of the planet and save the Na’vi from annihilation. But it’s not that simple, as an ex-Marine yourself, there are conflicts of conscience that your character suffers as he is torn between his own survival with the RDA or that of the Na’vi, who are being forced out of their indigenous homes. Whichever cause you choose, there are benefits as you learn new skills and obtain unique weapons - but this is coupled with the moral drawbacks you experience as you notice what’s happening to the other side. With a story and premise that reflects the deep cultural messages of the movie, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game will immerse you in those messages and provide a striking moral connection with the player.

I am really enjoying this game, it is no where as bad as everyone is making out! The graphics are stunning; they really capture the mood of the film it’s based on. Some of the levels are beautiful, especially at night the forests come to life glowing, it is stunning! The actual game play is very well done in my opinion and doesn’t merit some of the complaints ive heard! It is awkward at times, but then I found other more popular games equally annoying at times. I’m enjoying the close quarter melee attacks and picking RDA grunts of with the cross bow is rather satisfying. The multiplayer is also pretty good, again the melee attacks of the Navi are pretty cool it’s nice to be up close and personal for a change instead of picking off ppl from miles away. On the whole I would have to say this is the best movie based game ive ever played and could not recommend it more the fans of the movie. It really is very good! And I haven’t even mentioned flying the banshee, which is really cool!

RUBBISH! DON'T GET THIS GAME!!!!! OR EVEN RENT IT! I HAVE HAD ENOUGHT WITH THIS GAME NOW! At first I thought it was a bit dodgy but then I realized that the opening doesn''t always have to be that interesting. I liked the Blue Lagoon bit but I started to feel frustrated but it was alright. Then I got to choose if I wanted to stay as the RDA or run away and become a Na'vi and I choose to be a Na'vi. Again it was alright BUT the free roam is just CRAP! The map is rubbish and complicated! I spent 1 of the 5 hours playing trying to find a place in the mission! AND THE HEALTH SYSTEM!!!!!! AND THE CLIMBING!!!! AND THE MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!!!! AND THE... EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! IS A LOAD OF DOG CRAP!!!!!! One of the worst games I have ever played!!!!! Sending it back (when its stopped raining) and am going to get a good game *COUGH* unlike this game *COUGH*
