MySims games place the popular characters from the Sims series of games into different game genres.
MySims Racing sees the uber-successful Sims Franchise spill over into the ever-popular genre of Mario Kart-style racing games. It's a recipe for success, as both the Sims and Kart racing games are perpetually popular. But MySims is no Mario clone - the game has many unique features such as a Story Mode and sophisticated car and character customisation.
Race to the Finish is a tournament mode that puts you up against a range of increasingly challenging MySims opponents on a variety of tracks using three different classes of vehicle. Each vehicle type is more powerful than the previous, but handles differently too. Choose the one best suited to the track and your driving style.
As you would expect for a Kart racing game, there are oodles of crazy pick-ups. The F-Energy Storm fills your boost meter, and gives you more power, the Force Field protects your car from most items for a limited time. Other pick-ups take out your opponents in wild and wacky ways. The Melon Accelerator fires a watermelon at your closest opponent, when it hits them they will crash. The Seed Thrower shoots out a seed that turns into a fully-grown tree as soon as it hits the ground, making an obstacle for your opponents to navigate around... or crash into. There are loads more pick-ups for you to use, too.
You can tune-up your buggy as well: improving the engine, frame and handling will all give you a better chance of winning. But you can also improve the look of your car with a host of cosmetic upgrades including hood ornaments, mirrors, wheels and much much more. Of course, being a Sims game, you can customise your character too, changing their hair style and colours, facial features, skin colour and clothing.
Winning depends on you using choosing the right strategy. Judicious use of drifting and boost control can give you an edge on your opponents that is vital if you want to keep on winning.
