Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 (PS3) Description

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 combines the devastating power of the Mobile Suit, the rich legacy of the Gundam universe and the furious Tactical Action game play of the Dynasty Warriors series. The game will thrust players into incredible battles against legions of enemy Mobile Suits on distant planetary surfaces and in the far reaches of outer space. For the first time, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 will let players engage in melee battles against colossal enemies such as the Psycho Gundam. The massive Psycho Gundam can quickly reconfigure their bodies into titanic mobile fortresses which can move with remarkable speed. However, highly-trained pilots can utilize their own Mobile Suit’s speed, agility, and of course firepower to defeat these deadly juggernauts. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 will also include new stories featuring mecha from the latest Gundam anime, plus mecha from Char’s Counter Attack and more. With mecha parts collected throughout the course of the game, players will be able to adapt a Mobile Suit which can be piloted into combat.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is a great action title. The first in the series seemed like just a skin swap, you still felt like you were in feudal japan killing countless peons, but now you're a robot. The sheer amount of mobile suits is staggering at 60+, and then there are 20+ pilots to choose from. The original mode guides you through the original series from the cartoon and if you're new to the Gundam series, it does a great job of filling you in, whereas the meat and space potatoes are contained within Mission Mode, where you go through a series of missions balancing friendships with other MS pilots so that you can unlock new missions and gain new licenses for their mobile suits. Visually it's impressive (more so than the 360 version) and the voice work can be grating at times, but it's better than the previous. This iteration brings forth Mobile Armors which for the un-initiated are hulking mech's, some armed with vorpal weaponry that can take you out quicker than the Death Star did Aldrean! There is a servicable multiplayer in here, but no co-op campaign which is a shame as the game really works well when there are two of you on the same screen.

The most pointless game ever made? Probably. The first was terrible but this was hyped up to be something special... I started to read reviews and while they were all poor I still gave it a chance, and now wish I hadnt. The game is mind numbingly terrible and a pure waste of time/disk. The worst part is that it could be could, just the devs decided to make it terrible. If you dont believe me then check it out and I cant imagine that anyone would enjoy playing this.
