Terminator:Salvation isn't actually that bad a game... the biggest problem with it for me was that it was actually rather good in places, but it was so light on actual content that when the game does get good for a few moments, it is literally no more than that - just a few moments. And it's a shame, because you can tell that some effort did go into getting some good content in there. The cover system and the way you move from cover to cover, is excellent and actually one of the best I've seen so far in a game, but the thing is, you rarely have to actually use it since the enemies are so easy to defeat. Yet another area where there are examples of good work, but lack of use, is the enemies themselves. There are like, 6 different enemy types throughout the entire game... that's it. Now these enemies are are all good graphics, but they all put up a relatively poor fight for the hardened machines you expect from Terminator... and because there's only these 4 different types, it makes things very stale. There are no bosses other than one HK droid near the start which is very easy to kill, even the ending just sticks 4 endo T's firing at you with little cover, and that's it. You never get to fight the harvester droids, which is a shame. Other fun levels like taking control of one of the sentinel droids lasts no more than a couple of minutes, then you never get to do it again... there are some set driving sequences where you take control of weapons to fire at enemy onslaughts.. again, they're fun, but yet again, they last two seconds before they're over, never to be seen again. It's almost laughable how short the levels are when you're on foot too - honestly, skynet must be a short walk away from where you start at the beginning of the game.... However - as much as there IS a lot of bad, it's still a fun game to play, and if you have unlimited rentals, it's worth getting just to play it and get it out of the way in one afternoon.

Gameplay-3, Graphics-4, Audio-5, Replayability-1. Overall i did enjoy this game, i enjoy the terminator movies so i thought i may enjoy this. The game is a third person shooter and does not do anything that is different to any other on the market, it soon becomes repetitive as there are only 3 enemies in the entire game, the terminator, the flying robots and the tank like robots. The same can be said of the weapons as there is only an assault rifle, a light machine gun, a shotgun, a bazooka and a grenade launcher also makes an appearance in the final 2 levels. The graphics are very good and i thought the people were done well, the robots look good and i thought this was one of the better points of the game. You cannot like terminator and not like the music, listening to the famous terminator tracks while running around killing robots was great and which is why i scored the audio highly, people are also given voices but in some places, some phrases can become repetitive. There is no replay factor, once you win thats it. You can play it on a higher difficulty, but there is no secret missions or extra weapons available. Overall i did enjoy this game, it took me just a couple minutes over 2 hours to finish which is probably why i like it so much, as the repetitive nature of the game did not get the best of me, a must have for any terminator fan.

Easy 1000G in 2/3 hours... really the only reason you should want to rent this. "On the rail" sections more frustrating than anything... one or two enjoyable firefights. Voice acting and NPC stupidity will give you a few laughs at least.

Terminator Salvation is the game adaptation of the film prequel in the terminator series, it has been made by the developer grin. The game was pretty impressive for someone that had low expectations on it. The mechanics werent that bad at all. Firstly the cover system was a much more polished version than gears !! Giving you the ability to pick your cover and have your character duck and leg to it.... Much more better than the conventional get out of cover get your ass blown on the way to the other cover. That being said the game runs smoothly, how ever really choppy continuation due to load screens for evreytime you replay or die or even back out !! The story is some what okay given that they cant be really crative as the intellectual world has already been set, the script in the game for you story fans is far from great but it can entertain. the weapon system is pretty straight forward and enemy encounters rely on FLANKING, if anything this game is like a gears of war but different genre. It also has a CO- OP feature so you can your mate can hop in together and kick some t-900 ass. The OST in the game stays true to the salvation film and so does the enemies, apart from that evreything kind of drifts away a bit. SO IN SUMMARY, this game is a good rental game it will entertain but its not a game for long term play. replayability is non existent, however i would also recommend getting this game for a rental if you want the easiest 1000 g for all you acheivement whores (i am on my self lol)!! Just stick it on hard and breeze through it, some parts are a little tricky but a few replays and youll nail it !! That being said ill rate this game a 2 and a half..... Thanks for reading and i gues..... ill be back ?? I shouldnt of said that last bit oh well .. XD
