Prince of Persia 4 (PS3) Description

Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness: the God of Light, Ormazd versus his brother Ahriman, the destructive God of Darkness. The Prince arrives just in time to witness the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life - an act which threatens to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Manifested in the form of the Corruption, a dark substance that physically contaminates the land and the skies, the Prince must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption.

Prince of Persia 4 is really good game. It looks beautiful, plays well, and lasts a good chunk of time. However, and I'm really, really surprised here, it's just not as good as the original trilogy - particularly the first Sands of Time which I dearly love and still play even now. Don't let that put you off though, because this is a great game. As mentioned - it does look beautiful. Very beautiful. The art design is so cleverly done on this game. There's an element of cel shading, but much more advanced than the looks of early steps into this art style like XIII was. There are shifting black outlines around the characters, but they just help you stand out which assists you in playing the game as your character may go off into the distance at some stages. The environments themselves are very well put together and awesome in scale, taking you on backtracking on a number of height levels you never thought possible. That's if your a completist - and I am. This game caters for that by offering hundreds of coloured orbs scattered in a mixture of easy to see and get to places, and some easy to see, but devilish to get to places too. It will count the number outstanding in each area when you're there, so you know where you stand. You'll have periodical "boss" fights to refresh some areas of their plant life, and these can get a little repetitive if I'm honest, but they're OK. Not enough to ruin the game. You'll gradually upgrade the Prince's abilities, and you can add different techniques in an order you choose by collecting the orbs you find, which will in turn help open up new areas and previously unreachable places to help you collect more of those hard to get orbs, and the process snowballs from there until you've opened up the entire map of worlds and can make use of all the Prince's techniques to explore everywhere. Some of the techniques are more interesting than others, including swinging and flying, and look lovely as you gracefully flit past the lovingly detailed locales. Although you ARE going to compare this to the original trilogy if you played it, and then realise it's not quite as good, it's still a great game in it's own right. Definitely worth taking a look at.

This game is pretty decent. It doesn't take long to complete so I would say probably best to rent and not but. The first thing you notice is you never die throughout the game. You play the role of a prince who has lost his donkey carrying a pot full of gold who then meets up with a princess on the run from a load of guards chasing her under request from her father who is trying to free a demon while she is trying to stop it. He ends up freeing the demon who then plagues the land around the temple he is released from. It is then down to you and the princess to work your way around the land and heal the land that he has plagued. On a whole it is fun but can be a bit repetitive. I would say 3/5.

This is not a very good game, as this game nothing compared to the ps2 trilogy... the gameplay is ok and good at first but soon later it becomes very boring and dull

The game looks great, but that is about it. You cant die so there is no challenge, it is freeroaming which sounds cool, but in reality is just restrictive as it stops you getting powerups and add variety. Everything about it just seems aimed at the "Wii" generation but fails because of a very simple thing. Its not on the wii. Had this been im sure it would be hailed as amazing, but its on a gaming console so it is a below average game that doesnt have anything going for it apart from its looks.
