Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga (PS3) Description

When LEGO Star Wars exploded onto the scene in 2005, it followed the story of the prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) the films of which were just finishing their cinema run at the time. The success of the first game led to LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy in 2006 which covered the original films (Episodes IV-VI) and introduced a few new play mechanics such as the bounty hunter missions and Tauntaun riding. Now in 2007, we are being presented with LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga which covers all six episodes and introduces yet more options for play. In addition to the levels present in the first two games, two new ones have been introduced based on scenes from Episodes I and II. There are also now bounty hunter missions related to the prequel trilogy stories, taking the number of side-quests up to 20. Jedi and Sith powers have been updated so Sith have access to the force throw power which enables them to pick up and throw their opponents around the level. Jedi have an enhanced force push power that will enable them to push several droids around at once. The cast of characters has also been expanded with an additional 10 characters being introduced for the first time. This takes the total number of playable characters up to 160, combine this with the character creator that now allows cross-trilogy characters to be invented and you have a hugely expanded set of play options. As with the other two games in the series, players can drop in and out of play and their characters will be controlled by the console. This is ideal for family play enabling parents to help younger children through difficult parts of the game. In addition, the PS3 version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga makes full use of the console's features, with high definition graphics, on-line two player co-op mode and vehicles that can be flown and driven using the Sixaxis motion sensing controls. All in all, this is the definitive version of the LEGO Star Wars experience.

This is definitely the best of the Lego Star Wars games. Incorporating spoofs on scenes from all 6 of the films, it takes you on a goofy Lego ride from start to finish, which fans of Star Wars will really appreciate. The character selection really is vast, with each having many different abilities. Often, these abilities will give one or two characters alone access to some secret areas, so the game demands a lot of replay for you to explore and find everything there is to find. It's a completists dream, with probably millions of things to collect and earn the top scores. The game will typically take in well known scenes from the films and construct locales based on them, then it throws you in there with an appropriate character, and you set about achieving whatever it was in the film scene to advance forwards. There are countless levels to explore, and again, the replay value comes in for you to find all the secret places. The cut-scenes are usually spoofs of scenes from the films, cleverly done in a recognisably matching way to the original shot it's based on, and you'll have the Lego version of the correct characters stood there, playing their part. Some of them are genuinely funny and remind me of the cut scenes we got in the early Worms games from Team 17. Overall, fans of any of the Lego franchise of games, or fans of Star Wars in general, will find a lot to like here. It's certainly accessible and easy to play for people of all ages and I would highly recommend at the very least giving it a rent.

Combines two great games into a wonderful single package - the magic and splendor of the Lego Star Wars games mixed together into a single game with even more fun extras added in to increase the already massive content of enjoyment for all to have. A must have for any gamer worth his/her salt.

95% the same as the other two put together but still fun, the graphics are a bit better but there's not that much of a difference. The game can get frustrating when your nearing 100% completion as there is not much left to do, especially when you have all the characters and extras. Get this if you haven't played the other two but if you have, maybe consider selling 1&2 for this so you have them all in one.

If you have played any of the previous Lego Star Wars games, yu know what to expect. A tongue planted firmly in the cheek account of all of the Star Wars movies, recreated in everyone's favourite little plastic building blocks. The game works surpringly well, with all six of the movies divided up into smaller chapters. Also worth a mention are the extras available to you which you 'purchase' with the little gold and silver nub-like pieces of Lego that you collect in-game. The game is excellent in Multi-player offline, and although the same option is available ONLINE too - you will rarely be able to connect to another player and when you do, it'll probably crash. Boo... The game is fun but it's only worth picking up if you haven't played any of the other Lego Star Wars game before.
